    I was a full time server at Waffle House for 13 years (the branch was originally owned by my great grandfather and it's an important tradition in our family.) We were normally extremely selective about the people we hire but Lana literally just walked in and got the job because she's famous and I was laid off because of her. now i'm struggling to pay rent and support my child. that job was everything to me and meant the world. i'm so mad that people on twitter think she's "iconic" or "cool" for literally displacing lower class people just for fun. it's not a joke and i'm so upset that we as a society just allow things like this to happen.

    Short stories are the best form of fiction. Almost no novel needs to be as long as it is. I like when things are dense, because you know things are only mentioned because they're highly important.

    If female authors wrote about men the way most male authors write about women it'd be like, "he strutted into the room for the meeting, his shirt clinging to his sculpted form, his perky penis evident through his beige chinos" and I feel like that would be poorly received but it's somehow overlooked when men write the equivalent about women

    it's not that crazy to bring a laptop to a mall. i mean.. backpacks are a thing..

    But the real question is why was he able to immidietely plug it in, but is taking so much time to upload it? :stareney2:

    but look we all have our takes and interpretations, if you listened to the link i shared or any of the live performances she did for this song and still believe she says "like the winter we're not in" then there's nothing i can do to change your mind. people hear and believe what they wanna hear and believe. just look at the mtwbt lyric thread... i choose to trust what evidence, such as vocal stems and live performances tell me, not what it sounds like on the studio version and the lack of winter climate in Florida :nails: xoxo

    oh and also having the stems is a big help! but what do i know? no amount of evidence or common sense can help people who can't accept that they are wrong and need a check-up with their ears...

    "like the winter we're not in" makes perfect sense. The preceding lyric is "white lines pretty daddy go skiing" and Florida doesn't have a real winter. Also i've noticed that people sometimes don't really pronounce the t in winter if they're talking fast. And if you think about it, if she were to pronounce it here, it would kind of come off as weirdly enunciated. But that's just my take :nails:
