I don't want you to get your hopes up but he probably never meant right at midnight. He meant you have to wait 4 midnight and then you get wtv it is. 
So if smth happens, it will be during the day, morning/afternoon or at night

I really truly believe something of some kind is coming tomorrow, but if it happens to be a red herring, the 5th is only another week away. No matter what happens before then, I’m remaining optimistic.

IF (which I doubt) anything will drop this saturday, I don't see it being a song released at midnight. Not with the way the album has be handled so far (assuming it's actually coming on the 5th)
I feel it's gonna be some sort of announcement - a teaser for a magazine cover, the album artwortk, the tracklist, maybe even an album trailer. And even if it's going to be a single, I think it would be a worldwide release.
