Lana covers Rolling Stone UK - April/May 2023 [INTERVIEW]
rightofjupiter replied to Elle's topic in New Interviews
this made me laugh so hard. Need the “it’s giving fig” merch nowwww. great interview! And very very excited for her live shows this year- I imagine her lack of excitement previously did a lot to temper the lackluster live setlists and that this year will be a new chapter in her live shows.- 192 replies

top 5, in no particular order: HM terrence loves you MTWBT freak salvatore art deco is a runner up, used to be in my top 5 but once i got on the freak train... -
the album art is very '60s girl group but since we haven't had any videos and none of the mag shoots have really reflected the album art...idk i think NFR was the last album that had a real cohesive aesthetic, both BB and the new one feel aesthetic-less in the sense that both sonically and visually she's all over the place. not in a disorganized way, but in a way where there's no pretense at creating a singular image/sound bc the reality is that she moves wherever she pleases in all realms, bc all modes represent aspects of her self that are all equally important to the big picture of who she is.

i hope it goes up soooooon also still holding out for european tour dates....roadburn really can't be it can it?

a teeny teeny tiny nitpick: i wish she hadn't added the belt, the dress was styled w/o one on the runway and looked much better imo, but maybe she didn't have time to get it tailored...anyway, she looked incredible, the hair and makeup are to die for, she is really in her sexy glamorous italian actress era and i couldn't be more in luuuuv

if an artist or album is important to me and/or i find the music super compelling i buy a vinyl copy, as a keepsake and to listen to on my record player at home. i think vinyl records are beautiful objects and i like to have something to look at/touch when i'm listening to the record, esp when it first comes out. i also want to support artists financially (esp if they're indie) and for me vinyl is the only purchasable option i care for. i love a box set but only buy them for my very favs and if the box set has cool extras (didn't buy the most recent lana box set, for example). now that diff color variants are such a thing i'll tend to buy whichever variant i think is prettiest (i'm a sucker for pretty colors). i never buy multiple variants except for COCC (3 vinyls) and the new lana record (2), tho i do think i'll get rid of (sell/give away) and keep just one of each eventually. as for merch, i have to like it/think it's cute to purchase; i'm not gonna buy something i won't wear/use. i am more likely to buy merch if an album is special to me; i like tchotchkes and keepsakes etc. i'm not a completist by any means, i def don't buy everything an artist releases re: merch, even from my very favs.

some of y'all are truly foul...just bc a rotted website on god's big stupid internet says something doesn't make it true. halsey doesn't need me or anyone defending them but this is so cruel. you can actually love your fav without saying disgusting shit about their fake "enemy"
