2022 Lipsters Awards: The Decade Edition - January 21st
rightofjupiter replied to Elle's topic in Contests
such an honor to be nominated, I wore my most discreet ladylike make up -
i buy her records on vinyl (no use for CDs, though i do get the boxsets) and stream them in addition to listening on vinyl. i don't own BTD tho bc i never listen to it and its my least fav; otherwise i own every other record.my collection thus far: –UV: UO version –HM: standard cover/red vinyl & cd boxset –LFL: standard vinyl & cd boxset –NFR: UO version –Violet: pic disc –COCC: UO green vinyl, Target red vinyl/alt cover, Spotify pic disc & cd boxset –BB: standard cover/white vinyl –DYK...: Amazon pink vinyl & indie green vinyl (& will get the boxset if we get one)

Most wanted promo: -an in depth interview (imagine something like fresh air or marc maron ie a longform deep dive podcast interview that would be heaven but I’ll take a simple magazine/web interview too) -AW and/or The Grants video -an actual live (not pre-recorded) tv performance -an IG q&a on record release day

queen of everything, i wonder if we will get new music this year? i'd even take an announcement for a 2024 release https://www.instagram.com/p/CnlMDYErz8K/

I love album drop listening rituals! What else do people have planned/what were your rituals for past first listens of new albums? Sad bc the album was supposed to drop while I’m in Prague for my bday but now that it’s been pushed back idk what I’ll do- maybe a long meandering walk through the city?

stripped an absolute masterpiece, my obsession w her during that era was truly next level...stripped tour made me cry, absolutely incredible, i sat down, crossed my arms and frowned thru JT's whole set lmao

would kill a man to look like miss charles ugh she is so STUNNING

i REALLY want her to take big swing, do something really unexpected and new. i haven't loved any of her records since froot, and imo the last one had some great melodies but also re-tread a lot of what made TFJ and froot great. would love her to work w some producers who really push her to experiment with moodier synths, more complex beats, and a return to imagistic storytelling rather than didactic social critique. or maybe even strip it waaaay down to more folk-type production– whatever, just something NEW that puts her talent for melodies and gorgeous voice to use in unexpected ways.

i'm def most excited about the grants and american whore– her openers tend to be some of my fav songs on the records (cruel world, honeymoon, NFR, white dress) plus we know she's been deep in her family shit so i imagine it'll be an emotionally rich song. and american whore– i mean, the title is enticing enough but it's length, her boobs/slut era being obvs a big part of her story recently, and jack saying it's one of his favs give me very high hopes! otherwise none of the titles grab me the way some others have in the past, though the grandfather one is obvs epic– i really don't know what to expect (other than a continuation of the sound exploration she did on BBS) which is honestly very exciting– we know so little about the record's sound compared to, say, BB's release (where we had a lot of the songs beforehand, both old and new).

Lana with a fan while out in Los Angeles, CA - January 14th, 2023
rightofjupiter replied to Elle's topic in Sightings
low key lana with fake eyelashes done to the gods is my fav lana, along w beachy waves hair lana and black hair lana and paradise tour 60s eyemake up lana and and and -
obsessed i need it to be approx 5x longer
-
"let me love you like a woman" is corny af but it's also giving old timey country song or even jazz age bop so i'll let it go... i remember when UV tracklist came out everyone was like "pretty when you cry is the most lana song title ever" but the song slays so i won't say a word against it... at the end of the day i guess "god bless america– and all the beautiful women in it" is gonna have to be my least fav title (don't care for the song much either)

lmao "i wasn't vague for 10 years" ma'am......
