ok rn my top 3 are the perfect run of kill bill, seek & destroy, and low. but also super loving love language, blind, gone girl, ghost in the machine (only sza could get me to listen to phoebe bridgers...) and special. it's a real big swing to put out a 23 song album– even though the quality is high across the board it's a LOT to take in. but even after just a few days i am loving more and more of the songs, so expect that it will continue to grow on me. the only song i straight up don't like is F2F.

i don't agree but i would be interested to hear people's takes on why ocean blvd hits so hard and arcadia didn't (for me, at least) or vice versa. they do have a LOT in common sonically and vibe wise imo, esp as first singles...i haven't yet figured out why arcadia impacted me so much less than ocean blvd other than a) the extremely intimate lyrics of OB and b) the fact that "send me a hilton hotel" always sounds like the jingle for hilton hotels when i hear it (even tho i think actually think the sentiment behind the line is lovely and relatable)

i got the "well of thought" archetype and hope is one of my all time fav lana songs, so brava! <3

lana's always been a great lyricist but the marriage of her more developed poetry craft and song lyrics is truly a dream...the whole metaphor of being a person akin to a boarded over tunnel is so surprising and so lana, and she articulates it all beautifully in classic lana ways (references to other art, iconic places) with mature lana voice

my second most anticipated record of 2023 (right after lana's of course), love that we are getting both in the first quarter of the year <3
