the contract she signed at 15? scott sold it to scooter knowing taylor didn't like him. the point taylor is trying to make is that it shouldn't be how the music industry works. and yes she's making tons of money from it but she's clearly trying to rub it in scooters face and make his sale worthless.

I think the biggest issue was licensing, no? (Also, side-note, she never signed a contract with Scooter Braun, she signed a contract with her former label, who then signed a contract with Scooter, allegedly without her consent, which they legally were allowed to do). 
 
Under the current ownership of the "stolen" masters, while she still gets creative control on who she can license those songs to, the fee--the most lucrative part of the deal--is paid to the owner of the masters, not the artist. Which is why we're seeing all these TV re-records pop-up in commercials, TV shows, trailers, etc. bc that's largely where the money is--not in the money made from streaming.

I’ve always looked at Chemtrails - Blue Banisters - Ocean Boulevard as the trio of albums that are a slow progression from outwards (NFR) to more and more inwards with each album, with OB being her first album post the claustrophobic feeling of the pandemic (hence why it probably opens and widens open from Paris Texas forward). Now with new landscapes, new experiences, close personal encounters with fans, etc will probably inspire her in different ways. And you’re totally right, last time she toured we went from LFL to NFR. She could go to different directions.

Anyways, I really don't think an album is coming until late 2024/early 2025 tbh. With the tour, Jack being newly married, and her management doing all these represses, I think all signs point to her taking at least a 1-2 year break. 
 
And honestly, I think this tour will be the best thing for her...she's probably realizing which songs of hers are being met with relative silence from fans and which have them singing along to...

I don't think we need to use the term "real fan" here when we literally all chose to sign up for a fucking fan forum. It doesn't get more real than that...

Jack needs to be pushed imo, otherwise he gives artists uninspired output like Solar Power (sorry, I am a huge Lorde fan, but I honestly just don't think she even really tried with that album? She seemed bored performing all the songs live). When he works with someone who has a very clear artistic vision, he can actually mold his production to their visions very well (see: Dance Fever, folklore, Melodrama, Norman Fucking Rockwell!). I think LDR X will be whatever Lana wants it to be, and it's silly and offensive to act like she's artistically being held hostage by Jack Antonoff.

Finding a producer you click and vibe with is hard.
Also a lot of producers are fxcking weird, big heads, kinda dxcks, creepy, over bearing, rude, etc...

i just got here but can we all shut up 😍 it doesnt matter. im sure lana will also be collaborating with other producers besides jack for this album just like she did with CN. jack has produced some of lana’s career highlights n will continue to do so im sure. its on lana to approve of the sound anyways n make it what SHE wants it to be. lets just all collectively get over it 
 
i want her to switch it up too but i think lana found her niche n will continue to stick with it and experiment here n there

i was right about taylor’s voice on rep tv not changing that much! to me it sounds almost identical to the original unlike how in her other tvs i hear a big difference between her younger and older voice. 
also ppl in the comments are saying they hear a lot of differences and i cant detect much? like “i don’t like the way she says ‘do’ in the chorus”, “she doesn’t sound as angry in the bridge”, etc etc. idk i’m not noticing a lot of that but i don’t blame people for being picky because that’s exactly how i was about red tv, doesn’t compare to the original at all.
 

i didnt find lymmd tv that bad, except maybe for the "do's" which may take some getting used to. ppl are acting like it's the weeeeeeee from wanegbt?? i have to admit tho, this makes me anxious for tracks like ready for it and king of my heart, bc the sassy aspect of those songs rly elevate it.
