The only thing I think is deliberate is the fact that she wants us to hear the record as a whole without too much spoilers cause Lana absolutely loves to release random songs at any chance she has so that's the real difference between this record and the past 3

I think she truly wanted to just surprise release this album digitally and her label said no. So she had to announce it early with a single for sales reasons but her intention is once again to just release the album and that's it. This rollout feels way better just cause we didn't have 6 months early singles and fake dates but I don't expect any huge promotion or LFL levels of content. I still think a second single and MV are the bare minimum tho so I think we'll get that at least

Part of the overthinking is because of boz's "It should be AW&J instead". It's so funny how the more we know the less we understand

Chemtrails had a couple of interviews (one of them really in depth about the album) and we had W Magazine for this record so at least is not like BB where it was total radio silence (+ an Arcadia "performance" )

She probably said all she wanted about the record in that letter she posted with the preorder There's still hope for a couple of interviews until or after the album tho

I guess they were shocked cause they didn't expect a song to be sampled in the closing track not because of the particular choosen song (specially if it's a recent one)

Yeah he basically said A&W made no sense and that in that case (of putting the "&" there) it should be AW&J instead. If the lyric is "this is the experience of being and american whore" the "&J" has to be referring to the "american whore" too (like for example Jezebel like you said). Unless there's another lyric like "we're the American Whore & Jack" as in they are a team

Or Amy Winehouse & Janis... even though I doubt she's using AW as Amy Winehouse and American Whore in the same song it would be really insensitive "American Whore & Jesus" makes the most sense since the next song is the pastor interlude

Yeah if she deliberately chose A&W instead of the full title or a standard AW acronym it has to be in relation to either that chain or the beer (?). I'm not from the US so I'm not familiar with those things but it makes sense for her I guess It's definitely not for censorship reasons tho since NFR, FMWUTT, VB etc exist and she cares about that stuff less and less with every era so I'm really curious about her real reasoning but your theory makes sense too as a little homage

I also think it's Venice Bitch. It's the clearest fan favorite from the past Jack records and the one with the most potential for a sample. It has so many iconic parts and lines to choose from My prediction is that it is the whatever/beautiful losers part even though the crimson and clover or the jealous lines also work with everything. But I have to say it's still not that shocking now that we know about it if it was an older track it would be more of a surprise even if we knew she sampled herself
