Two things: Good music (although this is subjective of course) and cohesiveness.
And cohesiveness doesn't have to mean that everything sounds the same, when i think of a great album the first thing that comes to mind is Britneys Blackout. That's a great example of an album that is extremely cohesive but every song is a different style and generates a different feeling. Production is also really important!

Great songs ✔️ great track listing ✔️ unified overall sound palette ✔️ ➕ all brought to life with great visuals ✔️

A good concept that is maintained throughout the songs.

Good album art (on theme as well) + cohesion in terms of production/sonority

I love when an album is extremely cohesive. When every track sounds like it’s from the same universe, it helps me visualize the album better as a whole

Let The Light In and Margaret the smash hits you are
Kinda wish they would send Let The Light In to radio stations ( if that didn't happen yet lol), I think it truly deserves

And I love how the Grandfather Let The Light In Margaret run feels like a warm hug and is very uplifting Fishtail, Peppers and Taco Truck x VB obviously slay too and are giving us LIFE
I just realize once again how good every part of that album is, she really did THAT 
Also the way Kintsugi is not only right in the middle of the album but it's the heart of the album too
That post was kinda filled with random thoughts but I love Ocean Blvd so much, it's my fave along with Honeymoon and ugh I could go and on and on

the potential this song has  LANA WAKE UP BABY

I'm getting tired of yee yee country girl Lana. I know she had this whole folk/country schtick during her Lizzy Grant days but it felt more ironic back then. It was different. Like the exaggerated southern drawl she used on Mermaid Motel or in Trash Magic. Singing about Christmas lights on trailers and stuff. It was camp. I miss that. 

I like that Lana is always trying something new, unexpected

Hope is one of her best songs

If Lana kept LFL's original "witchy" / mysterious vibe, the album would've been 100x better.
