I think she's referring to the fact that her man is a religious man. Growing up catholic I often heard about things like "following God's call." So maybe she's saying that her man thinks freedom comes from following God.. Does that make sense?

So glad I made this topic.. I should've known evil already has a post about this, haha!! Please share! I really didn't think any of you guys would be that interested in this but I'm happy you are
Also, the poems are so heavily inspired by Lizzy, I love them. If you're always wanting more of her old stuff, I'd definitely suggest reading them. Some seems like it could be her lyrics. Love you guys xx

It's weird, isn't it? Part of me thinks it's just some random blog she liked, but she tweeted references to these poems for 2/3 yrs. It's almost hard to tell whether these poems were inspired by her music or she was inspired by the poems. Did she ever go by Liz, or was that just a red herring? I'm trying to contact the poet himself to see if they knew each other xx

So I was browsing through a ton of Lana's old tweets and I decided to do some researching.. I was just curious about some and I wanted to find out if she had written them or if they were quotes, references, etc.
I stumbled across this website: http://disembodiedpoetics.com.
If you look through the poems on there dated between 2009-10, a LOT of it corresponds with Lana's 2010/2011 tweets (on her current acc). I'm just wondering if anyone could analyze this further.

One thing that jumped out to me was this:
I was just reading a ton of the poems and noting which ones Lana tweeted, when I saw a poem titled "you have to take me right now." Of course I thought of Yayo.
A few poems later and I see this one:
    http://disembodiedpoetics.com/418
This poem (which is well worth the read btw) includes the line: "You put on a show for me," which also reminded me of Yayo, especially considering the previous reference. I read through the whole poem and when I got to the bottom there's a comment that says "This one is my favorite." written by Liz, dated 5 years ago. Thoughts?

~also, if anyone wants me to link the tweets and their corresponding poems, I can.

AKA is still some of Lana's best work up to date, and beats out about 95% of her whole discography. The lyricism in Oh Say Can You See and Pawn Shop Blues alone cannot be surpassed by even the strongest song on NFR.

Lana has posted a snippet of a new song on her Instagram. She has confirmed that the song is titled 'Happiness is a Butterfly' on Twitter.

Do you want me or do you not?
I heard one thing, now I'm hearing another
Dropped a pin to my parking spot
The bar was hot, it's 2am, it feels like summer
    Happiness is a butterfly
Try to catch it like every night
It escapes from my hands into moonlight
    Every day is a lullaby
Hum it on the phone like every night
Sing it for my babies on the Tourlyfe
    Ah...

If he's a serial killer, then what's the worst
That can happen to a girl who's already hurt?
    I'm already hurt
If he's as bad as they say, then I guess I'm cursed
Looking into his eyes, I think he's already hurt
    He’s already hurt

    I said, don’t be a jerk
    Don’t call me a taxi
    Sitting in your sweatshirt
    Crying in the backseat
    Ooh
I just wanna dance with you
    Hollywood and Vine
    Black rabbit in the alley
I just wanna hold you tight down the avenue
I just wanna dance with you
I just wanna dance (with you)
Baby I just wanna dance (dance)
    With you (dance)
Baby I just wanna dance (dance)
    With you

Left the canyon, drove to the club
I was one thing, now I'm being another
Laurel down to Sunset in the truck
I'll pick you up if you're in town on the corner
    Oh...

    Happiness is butterfly
We should catch it while dancing high
Lose myself in the music, baby
    Everyday is a lullaby
Try to catch it like lightning high
Sing it into my music, I’m crazy

I wish I could direct cherry, I have a story on my mind:
    - She likes this guy but he is with another girl
    - after the first drum roll, the video have a red filter that is getting more intense with the song
    - she is kinda having a crazy horror movie moment imagining the guy and the girl dancing and kissing in front of her in her bedroom
    - every now and then, the girl appears on the mirror and says “bitch!”
    - Lana is getting crazy and the video is getting more and more red.
    - in the last chorus, they are all inside a church and the guy is getting married with the girl and they say “bitch! Bitch!” Looking at Lana
    - the camera gets close to Lana’s face and a black screen appears with the last word: “fuck!”

It sounds like a song that would play during the credits at the ending of an Indie movie. This song is a closer. I was expecting something with more FIIIRE. Still it's not a bad song. It's just meh.
