Years ago I was chatting with my friend (who isn't a Lana fan and doesn't know her) and it was like really late and I kinda had to go to sleep, so I wanted to tell them good night but I said it like "you can go to sleep now 🍯🌙" and I don't know why but I wanted to put the honey and moon emojis there (I used to be very pretentious w emojis and I tried to do Lana propaganda with some weird ass references ) but the conversation still went on and again I don't know why but I said to them "some things last a long time 🍯🌙" (like a subtle reference to Lana's cover of it but they obv don't know shit about Lana - again I was a pretentious as fuck and tried to sneak Lana references everywhere) and then they answered to me "honey doesn't get bad btw" and somehow I felt so embarrassed with my pretentious ass Lana references and I didn't answer and I finally went to sleep

back in my last year of middle school (so like the first half of 2014) me and a couple other kids got switched to a different english class bc of our scores or some shit and we’d usually get partnered up.. so anyway were doing some group project and he starts randomly going 
“BE AGRESSIVE! B-E AGGRESSIVE! BE AGRESSIVE! B-E AGGRESSIVE!..(Etc.)” and I was convinced he was a lana del rey fan since this was when i was really getting into all her unreleased so i was like “thats a lana song!!!” and then he started saying no it wasn’t so we started like slightly bickering only for me to learn later on that was an actual cheer chant or some shit and not just another day of lanas genius running in my 13/14 year old mind and soundcloud playlists (i am still embarrassed now.. the moment lives rent free in my head )

the lyrics ‘you stick to your yogurt I’ll stick to my apple pie’ and this part of the chorus: Girls, they never befriend me cause I fall asleep when they speak of all the calories they eat all they say is, "Na-na-na-na-na" come across ‘not like the other girls’, like she’s better than them for not caring about food/calories. marina has admitted in a podcast she did have an eating disorder pre-froot so that’s an added layer, perhaps she was trying to deflect and act like she was above succumbing to the size 0 trend of the 90s & early 00s.
