honestly i feel bad for lana.
her mistakes are her own, and she should actually own up to them at some point but i sadly doubt she will have the maturity to do that, in her mind it would probably feel like resignation to the internet trolls- and to an extent it is.
 ik there is no malice when she talks about sensitive topics, but her thoughts are hardly executed correctly.
But in some ways, she is right. Her words get twisted, and she will always be looked down on as inauthentic and frivolous by the industry and the internet. For example, her name dropping of artists of color got branded as “Lana LASHES out at contemporaries of color”, “Lana del rey receives backlash for RACIST DRAG on poc women”, and many people who saw QFTC or her recent comments are already looking and hoping to craft this racist, oblivious white woman narrative before they even read it, their perception of her message warped and they see red before they can truly think on it. So its understandable she is frustrated that people are set to default judge and criticize her, and create their own narratives about who she is.
BUT on the other hand... after all her babbling she can hardly blame anyone else at this point. She is also not in any place to say
1. that she is inclusive (thats not really up to her)
2. that she is blameless in all of this controversy (also, not up to her to decide that)
I cannot listen to the annie mac interview because it will literally give me second hand embarrassment, but from what i gather it was a mess. Her IGTV from today at least was more coherent and the reception was more positive.
above all, i wish her peace. shes been thru a lot this year specifically and shes tarnished her already fragile reputation so i hope shes okay mentally.
i know she hates it when people question her mental state so im not gonna play-doctor diagnose her or anything, just hoping for her to be free of this and hopefully learn from it so we can all move the fuck on.

I actually have an issue with how simple and repetitive she can get, especially on songs like Candy Necklace, Let the Light in or Margaret– which I all still really enjoy. I think she resorts to coming up with a hook and then repeating it 3 or more times too often. To this day, I still think Mariners Apartment Complex is her best mixture of wordiness and simplicity, with just enough lyrical depth to be interesting and enough use of rhythm to feel like the song isnʻt falling asleep.

I can’t understand why so many people dislike kintsugi and fingertips  they’re literally my favorite tracks of the album. I guess if you get it, you get it..

the pre-chorus on this song is kinda one of the best things she's ever done

I suspect she did actually write/complete this for Euphoria. Maybe she had some of the lyrics and melodies already, and then the show approached her and said they wanted a song and she created this. Something about it just seems so perfect for Euphoria, I don't think she just handed them a track that she already had.

Other version of WCE was clearly made specifically for the episode and will be heard there (as it was already teased in the trailer). The version we got is probably the OG version Lana wanted to be released – especially with drums being “off-key,” this is kinda her already known procedure to make songs “imperfect.” Not saying you have to love this effect, I’m just saying this is something she often does with her songs.
 
I personally like it, I don’t like this whole obsession with making music super polished and I appreciate Lana for doing things on one take, I think it makes her craft unique.

I think this song works perfectly for its purpose of being a soundtrack song for Euphoria, and that is all  

I never expected it to be anything more than a cute simple repetitive song with classic ldr unreleased vibes and that’s what I got. Very happy with it <3 reminds me of the good old days before norman got her annoying new fans that can’t appreciate this side of her
