Wow. The Guardian dragged her. Honestly, she isn't the strongest live performer, and the setlist should have been geared more towards the well known BTD/UV/HM/LFL cuts with some NFR and DYK sprinkled in, popular unreleased too.

We needed BTD singles + Radio, maybe Lolita and Without You, UV singles + Brooklyn Baby,  HBTB, Freak, MTWBT, Love, Coachella, Cherry, then NFR, VB....cut to DYK with P,T, maybe Grandfather and A&W too. She could have thrown more iconic unreleased in there like QoD, Serial Killer, MMITPM, and so on.....set list should have been very local and condensed for the GP.

Also I haven’t read the last few pages here but I saw them cutting up on Sky for being booted off stage and not giving a fuck. Classic! I wonder why she even bothers doing shows tbh. I can’t take her seriously as a live performer so I always gloss over that discourse in here but it’s sad for the people who actually pay $ to see her and get all excited only for them to get the bare minimum. Please stop spending $ on this woman until she releases the anniversary NTMT vinyls sis. 

It's iconic and some of the best reality TV ever. I still watch it sometimes. It definitely has its share of problems and dated narratives, but that is mostly a reflection of where society was at the time. So with that in mind, and not taking the show so seriously, it's still enjoyable.

And I do think the show had impact on shedding light on different types of beauty than what some people were used to. Tyra casted girls from all walks of life, racially and culturally, even casting girls with disabilities and transgender models.

She has so many good unreleased songs, from pre-frame, 2010 pop diva era, and beyond. Realistically she's not going to satisfy everyone. I know that isn't the point either and she can only choose qualitea songs that are more recent like the Fine Chinas, Your Girls, and so on but what about the Break My Fall and BBM Baby lovers (me....)

I would be totally fine if she continues to let her leaked discography stay underground. AT LEAST until we get AKA on streaming.

Yes, it’s cash-grabbing, but most of her merch revolving around coquette aesthetic IS cash-grabby. It doesn’t harm anyone, if you like the idea, you buy it, if you don’t, you don’t. Personally, I don’t like the orange vinyl that much, but it’s just a mockup and I’m hoping the colour looks better in person. I’m def buying, I missed the chance on the titty vinyl and I regret it, but I do get your opinion and I do understand it

I actually like it. It's pretty fun for a collector's edition. But I understand why people are not liking it, but I do.

Truth is, there's no bad song on NTMT. Kristine & I Will are excellent. The only song that gives me a pause when I listen to the album in order is Heavy Metal Heart....I think because of the way it is sung or something, but it's a little off-putting to me. Still a good song though.

NTMT is a skipless grunge pop masterpiece. No one else could've done that.

Like I know we hate her but Boys to You’re Not The One is literally skip-less grunge pop excellence, and the later tracks are just as good especially Love In Stereo & title track.

She was THAT girl. It’s a shame and a FAILURE with the talent management team that allowed this girl fall into a hole

Songs like 1949, Girl That Got Away, Every Man Gets His Wish, Puppy Love, etc scream coquette girlie to me. I definitely think she fits into the idea of that aesthetic. I mean she has a whole song called Lolita, it’s not that far of a stretch.

I wonder what she will be writing about this era. Lana’s always been emotional with her writing but I feel like COCC, BB, and DYK were all very vulnerable and revealing albums for her. I wonder where she will go from DYK especially since it’s probably her most transparent and straightforward work to date, in the sense that you don’t have to read between the lines too much, she is telling you exactly what is going on. I wonder if that will continue or we will get more beautiful classic sounding songs like TMHCR. Either way I am so excited for Lasso

News of this broke in January 2013, and it’s funny that Lana was in talks to play Sharon in a project by an unknown director (though we can infer it was James Franco). Perhaps when Lana and James first connected in the summer of 2014, he brought this up and she wrote the first demo of “Beautiful People” (which we know was recorded in late July 2014). I wonder if she got inspiration for the title of this song from this movie that never materialized…
 

Charting its evolution between 2014 and 2017 is really one of the most beautiful things to have witnessed in the larger LDR lyrical arc. 

This is a pretty cool fact. I remember in 2015 for a Billboard interview she was talking about writing scripts? Or something like that about a lady & high walls haha. It would have been wild if she actually played Sharon in a biopic back then.

outside of that- charli has a dedicated fanbase but most of the general comments on YouTube-SNL etc talk about them not even knowing what charli even looks like or who she is- they both are indentityless in different ways.

Charli not being commercial or mainstream enough does not equate to her being identity-less. She is the opposite of that. Be for real sister!

The snippet is literally giving Pop 2 teas! Her new look itself isn’t giving Charli but the lack of artistic identity overall is troubling. 

Camila shamelessly copying Charli XCX is not what I saw for 2024!

This new image for her feels very try hard and inauthentic so far. It’s sort of a “good girl gone bad” moment I suppose, but the lack of artistic identity mixed with the low effort/budget aesthetic of the visuals so far is just completely not hitting.

But some gays are stanning her ironically so let’s see if that yields results….
