The SNL comment is heinous and shallow, but probably representative of how the industry still sees her. I'm just saying if you're getting your hopes up for AOTY you're setting yourself up for disappointment. The normies will never truly get Lana, and that's just the way it is. For me, I'm just hoping she finally gets a statue with the alternative music performance award, and I only care because I know it means a lot to her.

Now that Lana is having a sane moment, looking back this era was truly unhinged. The selfie, Rock Candy Sweet June 1st, deactivating her instagram weeks before the album release, switching out high quality masters for Youtube rips, doing absolutely zero press, trying to make Arcadia a moment, the terrible trap interlude, by the way thanks for the shoo-oo-oo-oo-ooz, the list goes on and on.

But underneath it all, it was a dry run for Ocean Blvd — the variety, the wildness, the dense lyrics: these were things built up over time. There's no Fingertips or Kintsugi or GPSOTSOMFWHDSF without the title track, Black Bathing Suit, or Wildflower Wildfire.

Anyway point is Queen Lana does what she wants when she wants to, and even if you don't like one album, trust the process because she is always moving forward

I'm so proud at this album and Lana
It's such a classic and one of her best in her discography imo and while there is variety it still feels like it belongs together,  we go through some darker heartwrenching really personal themes but in the end the light literally shines in
I really love to see the appreciation it gets because it deserves. The surprising smash hits it has oh next step is going to be a Grammy sweep
I just can't believe what she said in the interview yesterday that this album just came to her, this is another proof that Lana is meant to make music and that she is such a genius and how talented she is. Also the way this era is feeding us really good so far Thank you Lanita and everyone being involved for creating this amazing record
Didn't wanted to say that much but it turned into a tiny love letter to this album

I'm obsessed, I'm in love, I'm foaming at the mouth, I'm dying, I've literally been looking at this thread for 40 minutes and not posted a single comment because I'm too awestruck and spellbound and gobsmacked and lost for words at how gorgeous this photoshoot is

I thought 2023 was an iconic year but 2024 might be even better and we're less than a month in

I'm fully convinced I love this woman's music so much that she could make an entire album of Tibetan throat singing and I would still eat it up

    FOOD FOR THOUGHT:

we wouldn't have had any idea about the Ocean Blvd announcement if that random interviewer didn't ask her about new music...
meaning an album announcement could come at any second

ARE YOU GUYS READY TO BE GAGGED!?

For sure the weirdest record in Lana’s discography, it feels really all over the place (tho obvs not to her) and i agree, it was a total stepping stone to get to ocean blvd. When it came out BBS seemed like the song that prob best reflected the direction she was moving in artistically and I do think that proved to be true on OB, tho it’s a much stronger album than the new tracks on BB were imo. For me all the new songs on BB are alllllmost great but fall a little short for various reasons (the cheap sound of the piano on WFWF for example, and the way she sounds off key in Arcadia).

BUT the old songs that made their way onto this record are some of her best, kind of wish the whole album had been unreleased older songs and the new songs were an ep or single drops only.

my fav songs of the new tracks are still sweet carolina and BBS.
