i like this album but i love a good mean spirited album review tbh they are sorely missed in the age of 10/10s to every popstar album

this is kind of getting whacked by critics (for her standards obviously, average will still be like a 80 something im sure) outside of the super mainstream ones which SHOCKS me

I think the number of songs is not the problem,  her reworked version of Red had 30, but I miss some outstanding songs like State Of Grace or All Too Well (10 min) in comparison

I think she released it at the worst time in the world possible (not that she could ever predict that) and way too shortly after Midnights/Grammy's/SuperBowl overexposure. World War 3 is pretty much starting, and people are getting tired of celebrities/rich people. If she waited to release this at the end of the year, after taking some time to stay away from the public eye, I think it would have been better recieved. Unfortunately, I believe that not taking enough time to decompress & not oversaturate the market might have been her first real mistake in her career.

I miss the days when songs were full length and not optimized for streaming replay.

For me it sounds very much like exactly what I would expect from her. Maybe not like one specific album but the sound doesn't contain any surprises for me. Not that it has to, but I'm not surprised why people would be tiring of it if they're not super invested in her music.

I think the hate for the album comes from it being too predictable and too long. A lot of people are sick of Taylor at this point and this album, while good, doesn't bring anything new to the table to the average listener. And then of course because people love to hate on her, they take that to the extreme unfortunately.

not me who's been reading almost 100 pages on here for like the entire day... anywayyyyyyyyy, I am too done with the first listens of the album(s). I am disappointed, I have to say. Buuuuuuuut as some of you are saying, time to digeste is probably needed.
