Crude Drawing of an Angel is my favourite track by far. Absolutely transcendent. I also really love Pretty in Possible, Butterfly Net, Blood and Butter, and Hopedrunk Everasking. Billions has aged beautifully and is such an amazing - and fitting! - closer. I’m less keen on the rest of the singles which all have their strong moments, but mostly feel ‘slight’ compared to the rest of the album (Bunny Is A Rider is very cool though) . I also love Dido on Fly on Me (Grimes almost ruins the song, lol).

That's the first snippet right? I hope that's indeed the early demo/voice memo cause I hate it  but the second snippet on the other hand... eerie masterpiece

I still expect a lot of verses and different melodies in the actual song since it's long and allegedly "complex" in structure

I think I said this before but I wouldn't be surprised if it's just 4 or 5 different verses without a recognizable chorus or bridge  maybe a little hook before/after each verse.

BOZ praised The Grants, Fingertips, and Let The Light In, and Kintsugi told us that the sequence between track 8 and track 16 (which includes Fingertips and Let The Light in) is the best section of the album. Not to mention that BOZ also mentioned how beautiful the strings on Sweet are. So I’m not worried about Drew’s work this time around. BOZ hated Drew’s production on BB btw, lol.

Given how much she seemingly loves this song, as well as the fact that she also mentioned it as the "first" song of the album last May, I wonder why it didn't get the track #1 treatment. It really feels like it might be the lyrical highlight of her entire career.

Anyway, it's also quite interesting that she hasn't talked about The Grants at all. Based on what she said about the theme of the album being her family origins, I highly doubt that it's going to be Sweet Carolina redux. In a way, The Grants, Kintsugi, Fingertips, and Grandfather please stand on the shoulders of my father while he's deep-sea fishing might be parts of an unofficial thematic tetralogy.

also for those who aren't in ~ the know ~ bubbling under is basically a separate chart done by billboard for songs that don't quite reach the hot 100 on their first run but may have the potential to reach it
it's essentially an extension of the hot 100, so for example if someone got a #7 hit on bubbling under it's essentially the equivalent of a #107 hit
the main reason why it's a separate chart is that it's mainly used to highlight songs that have the potential to become bigger hits - if a song has reached the hot 100 even if it was a #100 position it cannot chart on bubbling under

it is but in lana’s case this is really good cause the only thing holding that position is 4 days worth of streams with no radio or sales

since when does lana chart on the actual hot 100 especially with a 7 minute song released on a tuesday with no promo
plus at least it's not some component chart like Top Alternative Heatseeking Airplay Songs

Bubbling under.. preparing for the explosive rolling boil that will come with the album release
I feel like this record will be a great success for her, and this is a pretty good early sign x

even rewatching it after the first two singles you're able to see how her thinking process has changed versus past interviews etc and you can hear it in the music as well

Omg yes your mind. She had been letting these Ocean Blvd thoughts simmer (and splash out of the pot), I fear.  First the Harry Nilsson/Don’t Forget Me references, now this. We have to rewatch that livestream once the album is out lol
