i mean negative opinions are fine and sometimes entertaining, it’s nice to see a difference in opinions. but ppl hating on the syml track already rubs me the wrong way. it feels like y’all will INSTANTLY hate anything with piano in it. that track sounded so peaceful, wistful, and nostalgic, like walking around paris on a rainy day. it was also fast paced unlike the piano on cocc/bb, so it’s something new. but as long as lana isn’t using instrumentals similar to the ones on btd/uv/hm, someone will always be hating and calling her new music boring. 

why does this forum seem to have such a strong dislike towards middle-aged women? it's getting really weird at this point

why do y’all even come on this website if you are going to trash music we haven’t heard a single second of 😭 no matter what you’re not going to like the album when it comes out if you go into it already expecting to hate it and have very weird preconceived biases, that can’t be fun

Who cares if some of her songs sound similar to other songs... we all know she out-served them anyway

I've always wanted her to explore lush, ambient instrumentals. The title track from Blue Banisters teased me, so I'm glad to hear that she might be exploring that direction even more

how does everyone feel about Lana sampling this in some unknown TUOB track? 

Personally, I’m intrigued to see how it gets used and what vocal melody she’s assigned to it! I’ve never really listened to SYML, but it’s an interesting choice for sampling!

People keep saying that there are a lot of musical surprises on this record and that there's something for everyone, so the label doesn't necessarily surprise me despite a lot of the songs being experimental

Does anyone think its weird TATUOB is saved as pop when all her other albums save as Alternative? We know this album isn't going to be "Pop" so it's weird its saved like that. Maybe it's just a glitch but I'm pretty sure the artist/ label picks the genre.

Unrelated to MAC, but a huge amount of Lana’s work used some variation of a progression like Am-F-C-G, so recycling one of the most common progressions isn’t anything new or specific to Jack
 
I’m not a huge Jack fan, but personally, there seems to be just as much work if not more from before Jack that bears melodic similarities to other artists’ work (Old Money, Video Games, Get Free, etc.). 

I think that this will be less common as Lana’s artistry progresses as she seems to delve more into less conventional melodic structures, and BoZ seems to indicate this about TUOB as well!
 
Comparisons will always be drawn, but I do think Lana’s headed toward a more distinct melodic sound with her next record

The song that sounded a bit similar to video games was from Helen Vitali she is really well known and respected in Greece.

I love Courtney Love to death but there’s no way she introduced Lana to Joni Mitchell…Lana first mentioned Joni Mitchell in this 2014 interview and stated in this 2019 interview that she heard Joni’s name brought up constantly and “didn’t really start listening to too much of it until college”, which would’ve been well before she met Courtney. 

I need her to serve another "i'm scared of the santa clarita fires, i wish that it would raaaaaain! "  broadway vocal moment on this record 

When Lana samples the video of her singing God Knows I Tried from when she was in Italy at the church in the Ultraviolence video

Whichever song she ends up sampling; I guarantee it will be from Honeymoon. It probably is Swan Song. Could be HBTB or God Knows I Tried as well

has anyone made the connection between her W magazine quote & this line in HBTB?
 
I know they’ve been mentioned individually today but wasn’t sure. I doubt this is significant but still a neat concept if she samples either/both of them
