This exact thing happened to me with the cream version of Violet. It was long sold out so I accepted the refund. 
 
It ended up getting delivered like 2 months later. So basically I got it for free

The song is and has always been cute. It’s a nice song to play while driving around with the windows open. It’s not her strongest and I would’ve preferred something like Serial Killer or Queen of Disaster getting an official release before this but at least we have closure now and this song can finally rest in peace!!!!!

if I was James Ford, I would be fuming over the fact that 20 million people illegally streamed my song a year ago, did not see a penny from it, and now the official release is not even my version

also i feel like the new production makes the song fall flat
in the James Ford version the guitar loops drops for the second verse and then comes back for the second chorus, and after the second chorus we get a bridge/instrumental break with new chords, also the drum pattern changes throughout the song, all of these things make the song interesting and like a journey, but all of these things were removed from the released version, and it makes it feel like a loop almost

listening to this version for the first time and its actually so pretty. a lot of dreamy elements were added n it has even more atmosphere than other versions. i hope lana enjoyed making this version n continues to add more atmosphere to future songs. i do miss the heavier drums but the bass line drums are enough to make the song interesting. 

Yeah I'll never understand gatekeeping in general but gatekeeping SYTH when it's probably her most popular unreleased song (next to Serial Killer and QOD)

the sped up version is like when you accidentally put the needle down at 45rpm instead of 33rpm

Never thought I’d say this, I thought I was over with that song, but it came out at the perfect time for me. It is so soothing and calming for my aching soul after a near-hell month at work.

Really likevthis final version. I always really liked the "Ultraviolence Demo" woth the strings, the percussion and the sound effects but I think they really did a great job with all those subtle details. I know someone will drag me for it, but I really miss the time when she used to do tracks like this, that were not intentionally chaotic, lowfi or whatever

Well I’m glad the song’s out at least. I’ve been wanting this song to get a proper release for as long as I can remember. I nearly got dragged for saying I didn’t like the new version but it’s growing on me quite a bit, a few of y’all need to grow tf up tho

The way Red dress, Pale moonlight and Candle in the wind are all dead now and only Blue is still with us (barely mentioned on Ocean Blvd though).
