I don't think katy's really all that invested in the music either imo. she probably has it easy w the wealth she's already created for herself so it might not really affect her whether the album tanks or not. as someone who's got a soft spot for her from her past stuff, this album comes out uninspired and like she didn't even try.
her being a triple scorpio you'd think there'd be more oomph or transforming but it all just seems like a hash of what made other pop stars popular. I'm honestly sadly disappointed. where's the intensity? where's the more sincerely sounding vulnerability? her voice still has a sensuality to it but then the music still feels kinda flat.
and this is me saying more so from a mindful place in that regard.

I always see this: "I just think its funny that everyone critiques (artist I like) for working with Dr. Luke but not (artist I don't like)."
On every single artist's trending discourse that works with Dr. Luke.
Reality is we actually ARE saying this about everyone that works with him lol.
And also, what are your metrics for this? Lol. You're going through everybody's profiles?
I actually do hate Katy Perry, Kim Petras, and many others... typically equally! And refuse to support them anymore.
This album has been funny because it really is the same quality of all of Katy's works, yes even her "best" albums the fandom loves to say are pop bibles.
This has always been the type of music Katy makes so I just dont understand where all the hate comes from. Its exactly what her music has always been: catchy radio earworms of little substance and flashy over the top videos. And thats fine, just enjoy it!

Doja has actually been trying to get away from Luke from what i remember, there have been contracts she hasn’t been able to get out of, so she just made the best out of an awkward situation. Or something….i can’t remember.
As for Kim, she has received massive backlash over Luke and doesn’t care and has literally told people to fuck off. It’s just not making headlines because she’s not famous enough.

i will literally never understand this argument, both kim petras and doja cat have received PLENTY of backlash and criticism for working with dr. luke
i think anyone willingly deciding to work with him deserves criticism, and if people don't like seeing the artists they like being criticized, well... maybe they should've made better choices

honeymouns spilled that Lana recorded and finished an original track but Sofia shafted her and wanted it only used in the trailers, Lana pulled because of the blatant disrespect

taco truck liked a post in a topic by paradisetropico in Cosmo aka Queen of Melrose discusses chatting with Lana briefly on the Katya on the Grindr Podcast
came across the podcast with Katya & Cosmo aka Queen of Melrose
the Lana discussion is VERY brief, but at the 11 minute 50 second mark, they begin a small chat about how Lana's sister Chuck Grant came into the store once to get some dresses (assuming for LDR?) and was on the phone with Lana and asked if Cosmo wanted to speak to Lana and Lana said she was a huge fan of Cosmo!!!! this made me smile, I love Cosmo so so much and found them from the YouTube account Soft White Underbelly. kinda interesting!

this insinuates she was out with Sofia Coppola within the last few months right? possibly to collaborate on new movie as way to make amends for the alleged Priscilla snub? cause why tf would she be all dressed up to see her daughter who's like half her age ya know

THIS!! Every time I see someone post hate for TTPD, they almost always say “it could’ve been a 10/10 if it weren’t for the anthology.” It reminds me of BTD and Paradise- they’re two separate albums and deserve to be treated as such. I think the biggest reason why many people aren’t big fans of TTPD is because of the anthology which is separate from the standard album as you said x

I really do believe TTPD is going to be re-evaluated in 3-5 years and seen very differently than it is now (and no I'm not counting the anthology because that is a fucking deluxe edition not a part of the main album or a separate album and I'm tired of people factoring that into how they review the standard album ). It's happened with almost all her albums, and I'd argue TTPD is at least in the top 5 of her discography, if not top 3. I think people will be able to appreciate the unhinged-ness and more inaccessible lyrics and melodies once the over-saturation of Taylor has died down a bit. The way reviews ranged from calling it boring watered-down pop that all sounds the same to an incoherent weird mess, show me people were not giving it a fair chance when it came out. I don't think it was an album that was written to be a hit, and I think what she said about it being an album she needed to write was so true and it really comes across throughout the record, and I feel like this record is the most "real" Taylor has ever been. It's such an interesting glimpse into her psyche and shows that she isn't scared to show herself in a really unflattering way. I hate that it's been overlooked due to the overall tiredness around Taylor herself and I think if it had been released before Midnights people would have loved it.

is this satire lol? kim working with dr like is constantly being talked about, especially since she released slutpop
kim gets singled out because she has defended working with him over the years multiple times, she doesn’t gaf

doja also said back in 2021 that dr. puke stole credits on her album and that she doesn't want to work with him before being asked to retract her statement. i didn't see his name on her most recent album tho thankfully. as for kim she literally told people to leave her alone because she's not the only one who works with him which is a terrible reason if you ask me, not that kim is a good artist anyway. she fell off a long time ago.

people most definitely give kim petras hate for that, every other page on the kim petras thread has an example of that but it's true, they don't come for doja. perhaps because she's not an easy target like kim and katy, since she's popular and does good on the charts. and at the end of the day, that's all that matters to this very loud and annoying crowd: numbers

I immediately got Get Free vibes from Zodiac. Sucks when she keeps these career-defining songs in the vault (I Talk to Jesus is another song that comes to mind for me).
