WhiteHydrangea replied to Say Yes to Heaven's topic in New Releases
I knew it! There's no way the whole cult thing came to her from an LSD trip, like, what kind of drugs? Can Lana please just confirm she wanted to do a real cult inspired video and officially recognize every scene from the Freak video was meant for the original UV video now? pls jesus -
A 30 second video? Finally! I thought home girl would never realize you can make longer videos on instagram now ugh

Honeymoon - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll

So, what was Lana trying to say with Honeymoon? What's the history or the message after all? -
Saw this on Genius: "The last echoes of Freak join to the first seconds of Art Deco. Consider the incredible concept album; very poetic and retrospective. The eighth track is called “Burnt Norton” and speaks of the past, the future, the time as irredeemable avatar, and the perception of “Who I am, what I was, and what will be.” It’s really beautiful the connection between Freak and Art Deco: In the first, Lana speaks of herself as if he were in the climb of happiness, speaks to California as if it were her man, and she is in love with him . Occasionally singing “Looking back my past is most stranger than stranger”. in Art Deco, Lana talks about a wayward girl (almost like a stranger); enjoying a life lost among holidays and a world of life in limit. We all know the past of Lana, is not it? Note that New York is highly influenced by the Art Deco. Well, I think that in Freak, Lana talks about her ideal future, and Art Deco, their intangible past. In both songs speaks in the present tense. That is the ART. i’m sorry for my english" http://genius.com/La...art-deco-lyrics What a good interpretation Here for it, I haven't really understood what Lana was trying to say with Honeymoon but this is a pretty good read of Freak and Art Deco's connection

My thoughts are confirmed. Lana enjoys making fun of people showing off things they don't have right at their face

New interview with new Lana state of mind? What is she going to talk about?
-
That's song is a really weird song to listen with your boyfriend, and specially when you're gonna post a video where ur gonna talk about your now ex. It seems like Lana plans to leave her beaus long before actually doing it? remember Barrie? It seems to me that she confirmed they're over with the "times flies, people change" specially when Francisco is in the vid, that such a cliche thing to say when talking about your break up

I love Tropico and just didn't care + I didn't know there was a rule that prevented you from talking about things from the past, oh boy, if there was you couldn't even talk about something you said 1 second ago, imagine that... anyways I just love Tropico, it's the thing that sealed my fate as a Lana fan for life so... I'm making this a big deal out of nothing, sorry jajaja I just think it's so perfect I really wish I could talk to Lana about it

I watched this movie called Some Like It Hot from the 50's with starred Marilyn Monroe and at like, the last 20 minutes of the film she performs I'm Through With Love because she's the vocalist on a girl's band but anyways, she sings and I quote "For I must have you or no one" and I was so surprised! you know why? because on Tropico the Marilyn impersonator sings the same thing after Gods And Monsters ends, I have always being amazed with that, I remember it every time I listen to Gods & Monsters, couldn't believe it was an actual hint to something Marilyn said Thought I may share it as a little behind the cameras thing I also noticed that Lana is so inspired by Marilyn in the way she acts, so glamorous, real Hollywood glamour y'all, the whole movie was amazing and iconique, could see where Lana got her ideas from in her old Lizzy videos For I must have you or no one

New IG post https://www.instagram.com/p/BDTnWteFnka/?taken-by=lanadelrey " ladies and gentlemen, I'm coming to some of the most beautiful places in the world this summer for festivals. Absolutely can't wait to see everyone on our way through Switzerland, Greece, Ireland and many more stops until we eventually play back home in August in California. I'll be keeping you updated and posting the festival fliers as they come out. All my love, Lana Del Rey" YASSSSS GIRL come thru

That Billboard link freaked me out

I don't think she'll do Honeymooon or Terrence, they're too slow and would kill the audience's mood (remind that so far she's only playing at festivals) instead of those she sould sing High By The Beach since it did well and it's a fave on YT (and Freak/Honeymoon/Terrence/whatever on the Moon and Sun Stars festival since that would be a date where she's the only one playing so everyone on the crowd should be fans of her) imo *Edited

idk... I liked Pillowtalk but because I heard it too much and got stuck in my mind, I really liked It's You but didn't like the last two singles, made me feel like Zayn was just copying The Weeknd so that's that, I like his sappy songs with his angelic voice way better than his mainstream dreams
