Wow this thread is sooo cool. I've been interested (you could say) in Lana's love life recently, i mean how can you not? She sings about her ex-boyfriends in almost all her songs. The one that interests/haunts me the most is K... now this is my theory

K is a guy she met during or before her Sirens era, long story short... He ran an illegal company or some stuff (maybe drugs) and also killed someone (as sung in Drive By/For K). He basically got sent to jail and assumably on death row (also sung in Drive By/For K). He's also the guy of the whole Born To Die trilogy. She sings in Blue Jeans that he was chasing paper, making money which makes sense for the guy she sings about to be K. Now i always get this confused, is K the young guy, with lots of tattoos or is it the old guy? We can see both of those in the West Coast video. In an interview she said that the parts with the young guy are reality and the parts with the old guy are fantasy. Here's what i think: K is the young dude with tattoos that likes alot of drugs, he gets in jail and assumably also gets killed. The old guy is basically her fantasy of how it could've been, if he was still alive and with her. Also at the end of the West Coast video you can see K laying there, dead, and if i can see clearly with blood (4:14). But what about the whole SOC video? It looks like Lana's the one that's dead... I think it's just Lana reversing the roles and saying how she feel dead even tho she's not, and how she haunts K and how he thinks about her all the time when in reality it's actually Lana that constantly thinks about K and sees him etc. (K's also the guy with the blue hair, she sing about him in Birds Of A Feather.)

This thread is always the biggest mess. Lana does nothing as always so this thread just becomes a general discussion about Lana thread and it's actually kinda annoying. We had the 'how long have you known about Lana' 'When did you discover Lana', 'what are your favourite lana songs' and now this magnum opus shit? enough! make a thread for that and stop clogging up the actual honeymoon discussion

My honest opinion: I feel like this album is going to be just another Paradise in her career - a beautiful record but with no really artistic development. The true is that we ( as fans) listened to her music so much and spend our times reading her interviews, lyrics and trying to understand every single piece of her work that' listening to Lana, her world and vision it's easier for us than the rest of the world. I think it happened with everyone here but how many songs you hated when you first listened and still think it's bad but now you are capable of listening because it's a Lana song?
What really happened with me while listening to this album is I found myself questioning "Am I liking this because it's good or because is Lana singing?" quite often. And this is because I don't feel any surprise listening to this, it's Lana in her better version of herself but I still feel like "I've been there, done that". Does it make sense? Has someone here felt the same way? It's not bad it's lacks something as a whole....maybe ambition to expand her sound and landscape. I can feel her ambition and vision with some tracks ( Salvatore and The Blackest Day) but also her boredom on the rest of the album. If I could choose one line to define the album I think I would say “I've got nothing much to live for/Ever since I found my fame" because this lack of    desire and aspiration  it's clear through the album.

Hm. I got extremely excited when I saw this because I love everything about the Lizzy Grant days, but this did nothing to give me insight or tell me anything new about what Lana was like back then. Literally nothing. It went on and on about her and this girl Molly and how she was nervous, but not really anything about Lana. I've always wondered what people who knew her back in the day thought of her success and her transition to what we know now, but this didn't give me that much. Maybe I'm being too critical, but I just think the author missed an opportunity and wrote an article that went nowhere.
