Freak Music Video Premiering February 9th
annedauphine replied to Say Yes to Heaven's topic in New Releases
OMG this is incredible. I'm enjoying this a lot I'm so surprised because I didn't enjoyed ILYH that much at all (except BITUSA and another one or two) but this is just so pleasant to hear. The way he moves and acts makes me think so much of Devendra Banhart but with more Lana lyrics and looks, which means I'll probably desperately fall in love in the next two months -

Rofl just saw she used different filters on the same pic for the HM and LDR accounts I love her so much. Apart from that, does she really has the funds for a short movie directed by Tarantino? I know nothing of how it works but he don't seem to have ever publicly expressed an inclination for Lana?

Even if it's just her personal review or something I'm glad she doesn't keep it for herself and actually think that it will please the fans and would like us to know what's her opinion and what she loves and inspires us -

THIS AND THE ITALIA THING ON HER ACCOUNT. MV FOR SALVATORE?????? if she does I'm kms so bad -
Perhaps this has already been discussed but I distinctively hear "baby's breathing Elvis lyrics" every time. But I'm very bad at transcribing and English isn't my first language so that might be wrong. In any way I much prefer what I hear because it's so much more powerful, she loves Elvis so much that his music becomes the air that she breathes. It's a beautiful, poetic metaphor. I know I said it already but I don't think these lyrics can be topped. This song is an utter masterpiece. She's killing me. Lizzy where are you when I need you most

But the Jailer stuff would only happen IF she actually fads, right? So in any way it wouldn't matter because all the others would have left already, and those left would appreciate the music. It wouldn't really be much important - sad for sure, regrettable in terms of her potential, but not really important. I'm not sure I totally understand what you mean - not being shady! Like I used to be an enormous Muse stan and I still really like them but I've heard their songs much more on the radio than any Lana songs. I don't know the others enough though. I don't pretend to say that this album is better than this other because it's purely personal and I know nothing about music at all so I can't judge based on anything other than my tastes. Sirens is hell on Earth for some, for me it's godly, etc etc. What even defines something as great? I mean it's such a broad debate, it interests me a lot because it's something I immensely struggle with personally, but we have to be extremely careful with our definitions to this point, because how we define success is capital in terms of speculating what will Lana and her brand become.

I don't have anything against you at all and I really understand why sales are so important and the implications of it, and I appreciate that fans stan in all kinds of ways because it's what's make it beautiful, but for some reasons, the way you seem to approach it is making me actually kind of sad, it somehow sounds like she's dead already or that she lost everything, I don't know. I think it's important to still remain hopeful. We also need to keep in mind that she might be changing, as naachoboy said, perhaps it's what she wanted. She's really secretive and unpredictable, and on the other hand she follows some kinds of patterns, so it's hard to know. But my point is, let's not lose hope. I really don't think she'll stop making music soon I mean she has since she's like, twelve? And I personally don't mind if the quality downgrades back to the good sis May Jailer quality, at all. Again you're totally entitled to be interested in sales, but don't lose hope

Is Lana's fan-to-stalker ratio unusually high?
annedauphine replied to butcherofblaviken's topic in Lana Thoughts
I don't know but it's not entirely to blame on fans, it really, REALLY pisses me off that media like TMZ post stuff of her Malibu house and then jump on the occasion of stalkers to get more clicks, it's just a disgusting attitude and it's not making things better, it's a vicious circle. They're not showing her respect at all. Maybe because of the subjects Lana is talking about in her songs it makes people with... a certain approach or mentality maybe? relate to the songs in a particular way that makes them be driven to want to look for more, more than other popstars. She's secretive and elusive but on the other hand her songs resonate so hard with so many people, not necessarily in terms of lyrics. The way she presents herself too is pretty peculiar it's half way through everything. And when she does stuff, she's so generous, like for the signings where she stays so much more or when she goes into the pit, she has a real sincere connection and perhaps it's making the fans feel more intricately bounded than other popstars. It's a whole I suppose, but I'd like to think more about it. Then again finding her current address from the Billboard interview was so easy and I stalked enough pics of her house to know how her washing machine looks like but I still respect her enough not get a ticket to LA but this is super interesting to me -
Miss America said it already but I adore this Oscar worthy masterpiece https://vine.co/v/OAVBngngV2T Also I loooooooove the You fffffffucking didn't in Nick's vine it started to make me stan

LANALYSIS: Relating Songs To Known/Assumed Relationships
annedauphine replied to Sitar's topic in Lana Thoughts
Ok so bear with me, I've looked for it and I don't think this has been discussed yet, but I've been listening to A$AP Rocky a bit more these days and then relistening to Velvet Crowbar the other day I had a stretched thought: what if Velvet Crowbar has been written with Rocky in mind and not just a generic guy? I don't mean that he's the subject or anything or that it's real, I just can imagine Lana listening to him and thinking wow he's dope and being inspired to write a song about a figure that reminds of him. Things that could relate to Rocky: _ "your golden grill", obvs, he is very well known for often wearing some _ "your purple dreams" apparently Rocky and his friends fancy purple drank very much, and Purple Swag is on Lana's Spotify playlist along with Peso _ "you're bleeding syrup", the drug again _ "you were a dick with your crew", possibly referring the mischievous A$AP mob BUT: _ it apparently was recorded in 2010 and Rocky only got Live. Love. ASAP in 2011? So the conclusion is that this probably means nothing at all but now everytime I listen to Velvet Crowbar (which is often) I immediately picture Rocky as the guy and I love it
