here this is the last time i'll post on the thread so discussion can continue without me cluttering it up haha. i personally find threads posting lyrics of songs that aren't hers redundant because they just...aren't hers and i don't find them to generate much conversation. but this is probably also because i don't really vibe with covers of songs to begin with. especially not on a record. but i can acknowledge that this is just a personal opinion of mine and obviously not the opinion of others and i didn't need to initially post. and i apologize for getting lippy!

yea! agreeed. and it all feels very watered down, bland to me. even if her lyrics have (for the most part) always revolved around the same themes, there were eccentric and weird touches to it all that i just feel honeymoon as a whole lacks. i never thought i'd be begging for the little red party dress to rear its head again and yet...here i am.

i'd never in a million years take this to be about azealia. when i listened to art deco i didn't even think "this is about one specific person and it is completely literal, who could it be about?" isn't it a lot more likely she was inspired by certain things, even maybe some films, poetry, etc and created it? rather than "i'm going to write a song about azealia banks, someone i know but am probably not that close to when it comes down to it" come on

what's your damage heather this forum is overflowing with useless comments and whatever about snatched wigs and "YAAASS" and other bullshit. the fake lyrics and tracklistings more or less just cut through it.

i keep trying to get into her but find her lyrical content to be just sort of elementary ...and i don't mean that because of her choice to run with concepts relating to childhood. she's got great visual stuff and the album is very well produced but i just find her lyrics remind me of poetry a 12 or 13 year old girl would write. a lot of the imagery also feels forced.

this is one of my favorite interviews of her wow. i think his questions were natural and really cool and i thought all her answers were insightful.

i have to agree. i'm not saying the song is garbage and i see its appeal but on a personal level i'm just not into it. it leaves me cold with the exception of the weird ending about revenge haha.

you quote me and yet i've never said jack shit about trying to conclude on the truthful meaning to any song of lana's. and i am not saying there is a problem with a fan wanting to know the exact meaning. my problem is an artist who refuses to allow any sort of interpretation of his/her work. what's the point in creating and sharing then? if only your personal sentiments towards something matter, why share it? why want listeners when you will not let them interpret or find a personal meaning in it?
