I don't feel that HM is a repeat of the BTD-Paradise sound. The production is stripped back and the emphasis is on her voice.  Yes, there are strings but the music is way sadder, it makes my soul weep. The song requires some patience to really enjoy it so I kind of understand the people who don't like it. This is closer to clasical music than anyting she put out yet. I really like the jazz infusions. The lyrics became secondary to the somber vibe of the music and is a good thing for me because I wasn't a fan of the lyrics (if the lyrics would match the sound HM would resemble some of the Swans songs).

I think that the way that she released the song, on her YT account without a professional lyric video, suggests that there will not be any promo this time besides the videos that she shot already. I don't expect any interviews since she's constantly informing us on her instagram about her process of making the album. She seems to isolate herself from the press as she did it during her tour. Maybe she's finally getting fed up with them and I'm with her on that. She doesn't care about her commercial viability and she clearly choose to step back from mainstream exposure. I don't even fancy her being played on the radio or singing on late-night shows. (imagine her singing HM after a brouhaha with some idiot talk show host who will ask her about SNL or why she named a song about DMD)

What is interesting that I didn't found any mentioning on her YT account that the song it's released under the licence of her label Interscope or Polydor. I think that this era will be a turning point in her career as it seems like she is forcing things to happen in a certain way. She seems totally in control of the release and this means little or no label support, just Lana and us and I'm here for it

What you're talking about? You're referencing her past tours or the Endless Summer tour? From what I saw in videos her show improved: the stage is beautiful, her voice is on point, she has a longer set.Dancers no. But backup singers would be nice mainly to ditch those annoying backup tracks with her registered voice and have the full live experience

We speculated how would she premiere the song  for two months ( apple music, vevo, radio and so on) but in the end she just posted a video she edited on her macbook on her personal yt     But it's a good reminder that Lana isn't playing the popstar card anymore and we shouldn't expect her to follow any "rules" we are used to on music industry, girl is doing her own way.

Is Lana following Lanaboards? Maybe she read some negative posts here because she stopped posting on her Instagram

I'm stil puzzled about this. It makes no sense that she's not using her main account where she gets 500k likes on a selfie. Sometimes I have the feeling that she invents strange ways of hurting herself (her career). I remeber last year's interview debacle, she just went on and on...she was unstoppable in button pushing and after that she just ditched the entire era. It's seems sometimes that she doesn't love herself, look at the way she dresses, those awful shoes. I have the impression sometimes that she likes to be percieved as an outsider, or even to be criticized. She wasn't like that at the begining of the BTD era. This makes  her complicated, unpredictable and facinating but it's getting tiresome after a while. In this era I would rather see her presenting her video on vevo talking coherently about her ideas behind her music, smiling, being fashionable etc.

Please stop with this moon thing, it's becoming embarrassing. We have the lyrics for Honeymoon and you can find the word honey but has nothing to do with the moon (so the idea of honey-moon is BS). Even the meaning of "honeymoon" (used in the chorus) has little connection with the rest of the lyrics because they can refer to any stage of an relationship. Honeymoon seems to be a word that she likes "the sound of it", just like "ultraviolence" and probably it describes the "vibe" of the album, I don't think that she's developing some concrete ideas related to that particular stage in a relationship.

Thanks to Lana this is the first Rihanna video that I watched in its entirety. I kind of understand her connection to Rihanna because she was hit by Chris Brown and it felt like a kiss. But it seems that Rih it's not a sad girl she's more a bad girl with a thing for revenge porn, nonetheless the video is cute and "empowering" I guess.

Don't be that embarrassed dear. First, I think that there is a difference between psychiatry and psychology. I never said that Lana is mentally ill, albeit her self-loathing and random behavior is bordering a pathological condition sometimes. For me, half of the fascination with her comes from her backstory, the criticism she faced and her (often) unpredictable and strange behavior. Because of that I'm more focused on the fact that she's promoting her 3rd album on a random Instagram account which is awkward to me. So, with Lana you have to take on the "armchair" psychologist sometimes. But is not that serious, is just chitchatting about an artist.
