  1. Lana Del Ray WILL work with Ariel Rechtshaid and Jeff Bhasker. I have planted the seed.
  2. Lana Del Rey - Eclipse (feat. Kim Lip) Well, undisgust yourself
  3. You want the entire album to sound like Honeymoon? Like the exact tempo and everything? All 5 minutes and 50 seconds of it? Edit: Wait I kinda want this too Well, I mainly want the strings but still #LeakLoveDemo #LeakSR
  4. Omg YouTube’s music recommendations were serving taste as usual and I came across this beautiful Japanese psychedelic folk record from the 1970s Listen from 19:29 onwards That gorgeous melody and the guitar I’d kill to hear Lana sing something like that. I’m sorry I don’t even think Yosemite sounds this good and I don’t even know what Hako Yamasaki is saying. Where’s @Khris This is what the standard for a folk album from Lana should be. To add onto LDR6 Pre-Pre-Release Thread’s hopes and dreams, the only wish I have for LDR6 is that she stays true to her old school sound instead of trying to urbanize it further than what she did on LFL. She’s beginning to sound like a parody of herself sound-wise. The “singing for my babies on the tour life” line makes me think that she thinks this is what her fanbase wants when it’s anything but Her making more urban sounding music is kind of a mess now because she still tries to keep that indie/alternative aesthetic but the songs just end up sounding underproduced as hell No more of that please. The songwriting suffered as well. Still really not a fan of how uniform/simplistic the melody and structure of a lot of the songs on LFL were. It really sucked the soul and rawness out of the music for me. I really hope she takes more melodic risks in the future and experiments with more complex melodies like the record I linked above. Melodies that really grab you and take a few listens to fully comprehend. All in all, I hope she starts to find inspiration in music other than the Billboard Hot 100 again
  5. Omg I’m gonna be sad when this thread closes down. At least that will mean it’s officially the start of a new era. In case this becomes my last post here, Lust for Life, you were that bitch. Lots of love.
  6. I don't dislike 13 Beaches but I'm not a fan of how she reuses the melody from the verses in the chorus
  7. Body Electric, Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood
  8. TV in Black and White is such a classic Video Games' little sister
  9. I agree with what @@baddisease said. When she mentions God in her songs, I feel like it's mostly used as a metaphor. Maybe she did/does believe in God but in the context of her songs, I feel like it's not meant to be taken literally. Like when atheists say "God help us all," it's just used as a statement. They don't actually believe that God will help them. I believe Lana also said that God Bless America was not to be taken as a literal reference to the biblical God, it was just a sentiment. "I ask her if she feels the appropriative nature of the song title may stir any pots of sorts.”Well, it’s the God word,” she says measuredly. “But the phrase has wider meaning. It’s more of a sentiment. When I wrote it I didn’t feel like it was confined to a traditional portrait of the Lord, as some sects might see it. It was more like, ‘Fucking God bless us all and let’s hope we make it through this.' And considering these lyrics, I would not be surprised if she's shed her traditional religious beliefs LOL. What'd God give me a brain for? He won’t help me use it What'd God give me a plan for If he won’t help me do it? You know, sometimes I think God is playing a little game with me Looking down from heaven, laughing, and trying to see how much I can take Because the way things go, it's like a joke God's dead, I said, "Baby that's alright with me." No one’s gonna take my soul away
  10. The Butterfly Effect Life Is Beautiful basically
  11. As exciting as this is, I know deep down in my heart that the credits for the next album will probably look like thisTrack 1 Written and produced by Lana Del Rey • Rick Nowels Track 2 Written and produced by Lana Del Rey • Rick Nowels Track 3 Written and produced by Lana Del Rey • Rick Nowels Track 4 Written and produced by Lana Del Rey • Rick Nowels Track 5 Written and produced by Lana Del Rey • Rick Nowels Track 6 Written and produced by Lana Del Rey • Rick Nowels • Kieron Menzies Track 7 Written and produced by Lana Del Rey • Rick Nowels Track 8 Written and produced by Lana Del Rey • Rick Nowels
  12. I feel like her and Greg Kurstin would write some solid stuff. His stuff with Sia is pretty good and isn’t Lana trying to write more accessible music these days as well? He’s perfect
  13. Underrated but I really love Hyunjin’s solo. It’s so cute and calming. The music video is super pretty too.
  14. I just discovered the ungodly amount of hatred towards Love on this website. As punishment, I hope the next 3 albums are nothing but six minute long ballads with cheap trap beats since Love is apparently the worst song on LFL
  15. The saviors of pop music are arriving
  16. I love Brooklyn Nights so much
  17. I just realized Coachella is coming up Coachella - Woodstock In My Mind (Reprise) incoming
  18. For cute, feel-good tracks I honestly don’t mind if the lyrics are like Lust for Life. As long as it’s catchy and has a good melody. For ballads, something poetic like the opening lines of BPBP, the lyrics of Black Beauty, etc. I don’t necessarily want sadder/darker songs but I hope she continues putting out touching/heartfelt tracks. A lot of her unreleased songs have good storytelling with lighter themes. Sound wise, Nothing. I hope LDR6 has an entirely different sound/vibe from her other albums. Just like how Born to Die is different from Honeymoon and Honeymoon from Ultraviolence, etc. I don’t want her to recreate Ultraviolence for that very reason. If she does do something more rock-oriented again, I hope it’s a different sub genre of rock or something. I also hope she ditches the modern production. I feel like it makes the songs sound less unique and a bit lifeless. It’d be cool if she worked with someone like Dev Hynes and wrote an album that incorporated elements from 70s/80s pop since her brand is basically all things vintage. I’m sure her and Dan Heath can make an album full of beautiful, grand ballads with classical instruments (I’d die if this happened). Working with Emile again for an entire album would not be a bad choice either. His sound matured so much since BTD. A tropical-sounding record like WFL would be perfect. She’s an absolute chameleon sonically, I really do think her music comes to life when she fuses it with the characteristic sound of other musicians. There’s like an infinite number of genres she can take on. I just hope she indulges in it completely instead of using small elements of it. But my dream producer for a Lana record would probably be Oneohtrix Point Never His stuff is mostly electronic but he can strip it down to make such beautiful ballads like this. Anything he makes with Lana would be a masterpiece Edit: It’s too early for this shit
  19. I have faith in Jack and Lana but I’m keeping my expectations cute and realistic this time around so if she does serve something career defining, I’ll be blown away And if she doesn’t, well.. It’ll be another cute year for Lana and her #1 album
  20. All the signs are pointing to Happy 2.0 Please Marina
  21. This. It’s currently my favorite album but I admit, it is a bit simplistic and the production is gorgeous but not as innovative as I’d like it to be. I wish it was a bit more experimental and risky with more brass or something.
  22. Maybe she did accomplish what she wanted but it didn’t quite give her the fulfillment she was looking for? She became a singer but maybe she realized the path she took wasn’t exactly what she wanted and now her original dreams are dead because reality turned out to be much different from what she was expecting. But she responds to this with a “fuck it” attitude when she sings“Time’s on my side All my worries are gone I’m enjoying the ride”
  23. Omg it’s so nice seeing so many familiar faces back :’)
  24. I thought this for a second but I don’t think any director would let her sing that tour life line, it’s too specific. But didn’t she have a meeting with those people from Disney? So we might have a soundtrack song coming out either way!
