Yup. This era probably turned out a lot bigger than it was supposed to be. She talked about the record having the same aesthetic as HM during the early stages. No way they would have given her as big of a budget for the Love video if she kept the orchestral sound.

Sad to say but I feel like LFL could easily be her last "major" era. I think albums from here on, or at least after the next album, will have much more smaller releases. She's past her peak as a major label act, doesn't like promo and seems much more comfortable with smaller releases like HM where she can just put out the music and leave it at that. I doubt she's going to keep the pop sound and try to get some momentum going, which I can respect. Quality of the music matters more than anything else at this point in her career. I really need another HM-like record with more strings Edit: I just realized that I probably made posts like these at least 80 times. We really do have nothing to talk about now huh

I wanna drag LFL again but I know it's gonna cause a repeat of the debates that happened in the previous pages so let me not. I'm just going to say that I'll be laughing when I watch LFL constantly getting scalped by every new album release and have it go down as her worst record in history. The version of LFL that was supposed to come out on May 26th with the hit singles Architecture and Yosemite remains a skinny legend

I wish she blew up more during 2011 - 2013. It must be tough trying to strike a chord with the GP when anything other than urban music is being paid dust.

We all know she's gonna stick with Rick so she can continue singing through paper filters and work on getting that spring reverb with a bit of that Elvis slap AKA making songs sound underproduced as hell so I'm not expecting pure slayage melodically or production wise Maybe homegirl will come through and actually make an album for the fans this time by working with more producers.

Girl there are still SO much directions she can go soundwise. That Jamie xx collab, a tropical WFL sounding album, acoustic like you said, or even entirely orchestral like that Love demo. Hell, maybe even a combination of all of these. I don't think Lana's current songwriting/production style is strong enough to carry an entire folk album without it becoming a snoozefest.

Tbh I wouldn't mind if she ditches the happy theme. I don't want her to feel like she has to make music that shows some type of resolve just because it's what this album explored. I feel like Get Free was enough of a statement to end this era on a proper note.

Freak is a good song. Idk why everyone suddenly turned their back on it when they were quaking over ha when HM was released. Edit: Actually wait. Idk about good but it sure is catchy as hell. The chorus is so intoxicating.

I used to love dragging LFL but now even I am tired of all the "LFL would have been better if _ or _." It's been like 7 months let's give it a rest sisters. She is what she is. Let ha be. Also I'm screaming at how some of you would cut LFL from the album I get that it's generic and all but it's not like the rest of the album reaches some artistic high lyrically or production wise besides a few moments of brilliance
