  1. I would love to a hear a version of Change with church bells at the end and a more ethereal production paired with those angelic vocals
  2. Why can't she just end our suffering and post a snippet of Yosemite
  3. We all know she's gonna delete these by tomorrow
  4. Wig I hope she plays RBFY while she gets into her makeshift SpaceX rocket and blasts off into space at the end of the tour
  5. This EP or whateva better be coming
  6. Most definitely. After reading the Billboard interview, I warmed up to it a little bit because she really did want to get a good message across but the execution falls short. Also, did anyone notice that she's been talking about the outtakes a bit. They're probably never going to see the light of day considering their themes but it's interesting she still mentions them. Billboard Interview (December 2017) "I wrote four songs that didn’t end up going on the record that were a little more politically oriented. I didn’t end up using those, but 'When the World Was At War We Kept Dancing' and 'God Bless America (And All The Beautiful Women In It),' we kept on the record." Portal Pop Online Brazil Interview (July 2017) "I cut three songs from this album, which were decidedly political, but I also left some that say exactly what I mean, like "God Bless America" and "When the World Was at War We Kept Dancing."
  7. Forget the album, just release Guardian with this batch of songs and get it over with
  8. WTF Apparently Jonghyun from Shinee committed suicide?! This is so, so heartbreaking.. I don't even know what to say.
  9. You're kinda outta luck for that one too sis. I think Eclipse said he doesn't have that version Yes to Heaven V1, Damn You V2, Hollywood's Dead V2 - The Snippet Trinity You should hope for that alternate version of Summertime Sadness instead!
  10. I was listening to the trailer today and as pretty as it is, I imagine the rest of the song to be kind of dull if what we heard is the full verse and chorus. Try and imagine the rest of the song's structure using the snippet we heard, it doesn't really go anywhere melodically. There isn't even really a chorus if you think about it, it's just "life is still so beautiful". I still wanna hear it though
  11. Don't know why she hasn't been working with Dan lately. I'd love to hear some orchestral based tracks again
  12. Does anyone else wish she'd explore the sound from Wait for Life more? That tropical sound would be a nice concept for an album (think Sleepwalk by Santos and Johnny as an interlude or something). Plus, it would be a great way for her to come full circle with the past since WFL is essentially a matured BTD with the echoes and all.
  13. Not Cherry and Heroin being considered magnum opuses while a song like Black Beauty is paid dust despite having some of Lana's most poetically brilliant lyrics
  14. The tour is literally a month away so excited I'm still hopeful about the setlist being more diverse but I'm still prepared to listen to an album sampler of Born to Die feat. Cherry and Love (Acapella Snippet).mp3 Anyways, what are your guesses for the unreleased songs she'll be playing? I can see her singing AFFA and Hollywood or a one time performance of an old track like Trash Magic just for fun.
  15. Unfortunately, I think she was long past the string phase before Cherry was even recorded. Cherry was written in early 2017 I believe and these string demos are from mid-2016. One can hope though
  16. Just some interesting thoughts based off of interviews from Lana and Rick. In late 2015, Lana said that the follow up album to Honeymoon would go in a different direction while retaining the same aesthetic. This is evidenced by songs like BAR (which a lot of people compared to TBD) and the descriptions of 2016 demos by Eclipse. I assume the original production of LFL was done in a similar vein as Dean Reid mentioned that the first demo for the song was an ominous sounding ballad. Rick said that there wasn't an actual concept at the beginning. That it was just a collection of songs. Heroin was probably written around this time too considering it's darker sound. She also mentioned that it was one of the first songs written for the record. So based off these 3 songs alone (Heroin, BAR, LFL demo), you can kind of imagine what the early sound of the album was like before songs like Love came along. Eclipse received the Love demo in April 2016 so it was probably written and produced around that time. Lana mentioned how the sound of LFL got really updated because of the political landscape. The Love music video was filmed in July that year which means the final version of the song was produced sometime between April and July if the timelines are correct. There's at least 3 demos of Lust for Life (without The Weeknd) Lust for Life (First demo) "The original song was a long ballad with pads and vocals." Lust for Life (Max Martin demo) "..and then Max’s crew rearranged it into more of a pop structure with beats." Lust for Life (Demo based off of Max Martin's mix) "..then Lana wanted to do more of a ’50s doo‐wop style spoken‐word thing in the verses, so Kieron programmed a beat for that section with a more Motown sound, and we recorded her new spoken‐word vocals, plus the transition into the chorus, which sounds a lot more like Max’s demo." About The Weeknd feature: "Once we had the verses, the song was pretty much up and running, and then one night Abel came in, and worked with Rick and Lana and Kieron, and they replaced a number of vocal lines. They also did a lot of ad‐libbing and sang the duet part. I then added some bass and guitar parts.” I need to hear the demo with sung verses. I find it funny that one of the most pop sounding tracks on LFL started with a more unconventional and darker sound. Also, I'm curious as to how many other demos there are with orchestral productions. The only other song that we know of with predominant strings is Something Real. I'll link it if I find it but I specifically remember an interview with her talking about how she took the strings out because it sounded silly or something.
