Here’s 10 reasons why Needle & Thread should have made it into the album:
 
1. It would be the track that the album cover would be based on. It’s literally a Needle & Thread portal. 
2. “When you aren’t around I sink into the ground.” - Death
3. “Honeysuckle and Fresh Meat” - Tunnel Vision
4. “Mushrooms Everywhere I’m Turning” - Faerie Soiree
5. “Covered in muck from the earth (N&T) and the sea (Sirens)” - Venus
6. “You cleansed me like a waterfall” - Light Shower in response to “hey where’d the water go?” 
7. The entire song Spider Web is meant to go into Needle & Thread. Needle & Thread is suppose to be between leeches and Spider Web.
8. “They flocked to my needle & thread” - Leeches
9. The seeds have been sprouting” - Pluto
10. “Dug out a hole, and sow, that’s where your body goes” - needle & thread connects well with Death.
 
In conclusion, Needle & Thread connects in theme and lyrics to over half the album and deserved to be included. 
 
While The Contortionist and Powder don’t connect thematically at all to any of the album (Though both of those songs are AMAZING). 

I always thought it was

Thimble on my thumb is a masked man, covering the blood on his hands
Someone with vocal skill would have to rerecord the entire song for a base 

Ok so after weeks of being in denial i think i’ll admit to loving light shower….  like.. i know how corny it is and the eating you line always lowkey kills the mood but smth about it feels so charming. like she’s in love and happy and the song feels corny in a weird loving way.. i wonder how verde feelings hearing her say she wants to eat him tho..

Just noticed the ‘twisting all my bones like screws’ line in TC is similar to the line about turning screws in Needle and Thread. So many lyrical connections with the scrapped songs.

I don’t mind or actually enjoy some of the transitions but the one stuck on the back end of Tunnel Vision is terrible. Way too long, takes away from the repeatability of the song and it cuts off super abruptly, if a different song comes after it on shuffle it’s very jarring.

It is no longer enough for them to have Melanie Martinez thread always among the most active, now they also create others to share this girl's achievements. LanaBoards is in danger.
 

light shower is like such a good song with headphones in like i love it sorry… 
 

Like, parasocial relationships are real folks… all this seething anger in them when both Melanie (and Lana) could see them walking down the street and have no idea who they are
Same goes for Bjork fans, like I promise you— she could not care less 

Light Shower has really grown on me and it’s become one of my top songs on the album

OK but Needle and Thread works absolutely perfectly after that outro (gather me all of we) of Faerie Soiree
