Human rights abuses in Israel are absolute and violent, oppressive blatantly - she would be legitimising that. I don't agree with Russian or Turkish politics in their entirety either but to normalise Israeli occupation would be a dangerous misstep. Stop the whataboutery - just because she doesn't condemn all atrocities in the world doesn't mean she should then ignore those committed by the state of Israel

Yes, it would be a dangerous misstep. Who said it was okay to normalise other rights violations? The issue is avoiding Israel in particular because of the violence of occupation. She can do that as well as avoid performing in Russia or Turkey based on her own political convictions. What I'm saying is that whether or not she chooses to perform in Israel will make the nature of such convictions clear

I really don't get this outrage about her performing at this festival. I said this before in another thread but, should artists also not perform in America because Trump's seperating kids from their families and putting them in literal concentration camps? Are we just gonna ignore that the US military bombed Syria and killed innocent people? Are artists supporting this by performing in the US? Lana has fans in Israel who also wanna see her live.

People shouldn't be punished because their government is fucked up.
