It makes so much sense that Hollywood was reworked in 2013 since she told us the leaked version isn’t the right production. The way she said she wanted to release the final Hollywood, and then never did.

i am DYING to hear the "right" version, bc the one that leaked does have (imo) v dated sounding instrumental (reminiscent of goldfrapp) but the vocals/lyrics are perfection.

 

her output between BTD's recording and UV being released is such an interesting period for her writing– she seemed to be trying a lot of new stuff but also writing allllll these songs that to me sound like rock classics (not exactly classic rock but her own spin on it– thinking of wild one, i talk to jesus etc). i really hope we get a memoir from her someday, if not about her personal life then at least chronicling her life as an artist.

Tropico was the original concept for Ultraviolence, not Paradise. So the songs that were part of it were late 2012 and 2013. Paradise was its own thing

Normalize sorting the songs in the gray era between Ultraviolence and Paradise outtakes purely based on vibes  In all seriousness, though, it's super interesting to see how the Paradise sound was still kind of bleeding into UV in the early days of the album's creation

LET'S SAY for the sake of discussion, that Tropico was second studio album and it came out prior to UV (NOTE: UV does come out in this alternate timeline, just as her third album, not second)

I think the tracklist would look something like this:
