Really? I feel like it’s about how she turned her addiction into making music as way to deal with it like the line “I like to light the stage up with a song. Do shit to keep me turned on”. And it’s kinda like her kiss off to negativity. And perhaps she struggled with it when she moved to California as well bc “it’s just a state of mind” and “everywhere you go you take yourself” and also the line with the “shits brighter now that you’re gone” is also like a kiss off to her addiction

I have listened to either song yet, but dying to listen hearing everyone's reactions.

 

I'm wondering if they got spooked b/c of Taylor releasing a single today, but I listened to Lover and it's ehhhh ok. I think she. would have been ok releasing.

 

There's no way she can push the album back. There's too much happening including a tour. I don't get what they are doing.

Just heard FIILY now too. It's really cute and makes sense as a lead single. Will never get radio play b/c, well, she says fuck. But it has that kind of potential. 

 

Cute song with a catchy chorus. Interesting how this sounds so different than some of these piano ballads and yet they all seem like they could be from the same album. A shame it rolled out this way.
