Tamino’s music reflects his double nationality, but it’s also influenced by a wide range of genres, leaping from folk to pop, with a dash between blues and rock.

Tamino’s first EP, Habibi (‘sweetheart’, in Arabic), was released in early May, and he released his first album Amir in October 2018.

Other great songs from his new album include: Tummy, Intervals, Cigar and Each Time.

I wasn't into Habibi but I LOVE Indigo Night it's GORGEOUS and sensual it sounds like the soundtrack of an old French movie it has a very specific vibe that I'm having trouble trying to describe but that plays like a film in my head  :flutter: I had never heard of him before thanks for the thread :) I can feel his French accent in his English though and it's really impacting my tolerance fgkhgjkj

Also LMFAO in the comments of Indigo Night "he is the guy version of lana del rey" which one of yall gays is this

I didn't see your reply until just now SKSKS

The sound I would describe his music as is 'persian influenced', because it sounds quite exotic with the way he sings some notes sometimes, but also like a soundtrack as you mentioned. Some say he's more like Jeff Buckley because he can sing very high, but a male comparison to Lana is pretty funny

I was wondering why I hadn't heard from you lol. I'm relistening to Indigo Night and whew career defining song. I don't know if you're into it, but it sort of reminds me of Jacques Brel for some weird reason?? Not much in common, they're both Belgian though, but there's a quality to Tamino that reminds me of Jacques, he sings in French but he's a legend and you should check him out if you haven't yet :)

I finally got around to listening to his album a few weeks ago and I really like it  :flutter:

I also noticed Lana is following him on Instagram, I think it's recent but I guess she heard his cover of MAC

Ok, I'm currently checking out this guy's album and track number three just started and I can't say that I have much to say so far and I'm just listening casually (but I will listen more carefully, sometime soon!) but, like, I'm really liking what I'm hearing! Love the subtle Middle Eastern vibes in his voice when he sings and in the instrumental, and his falsetto is crazy!

He opened for Lana at Malahide Castle, Dublin, and a quick Google search gave me this great website with info: https://www.onestowatch.com/blog/meet-tamino-the-mesmerizing-up-and-comer-with

Tamino may only be 21, but the air that surrounds him is centuries old. Named after the hero in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Tamino combines classical music with the Arabic influence of his Lebanese and Egyptian descent to create his own, mesmerizing sound. His debut album, Amir, documents the anguished inner monologue accompanying early adulthood. The patient intensity and masterfully melodic lines of Tamino’s debut EP, Habibi, earned him global attention, not to mention a forthcoming European Tour. Featuring songs from his Habibi EP, Amir offers Tamino’s gut-wrenching lyricism and use of orchestral elements as a narration of falling desperately in love while simultaneously growing increasingly apathetic toward life.

I've listened to a bit of his stuff and didn't mind it, but also couldn't really get into it. His instrumentation and his voice somewhat reminds me of VAST. The best track he has made is his MAC cover though, which is really gentle but really highlights his vocal power.

Just discovered this guy & turns out he opened for Lana on the latest NA tour? Surprised I didn’t discover him sooner!!

Amir has zero bad songs, had every single one on repeat individually. So peaceful

I've always wanted to get more into his music, but something isn't quite clicking for some reason. Haven't listened to his new album yet though. But I was just wondering, does he have any songs in Arabic? I think he'd sound gorgeous, but I don't know if he's fluent or like me, a kid of an immigrant who was never taught the language(s).

Edit: actually, I'm gonna give Amir another try, I haven't played it in forever. I only recall a few songs.
