Make me your Dream Life

Lana songs that'd fit in other albums:

Recommended Posts

U already know the whole intro schtick. Title.

Which track(s) would you fit in to Lana's albums? AKA to LFL- consider them bonus tracks, or even have em jump from one record to another.

Personal opinion:
Heroin, nd 13  Beaches could b in HM, or at least I always confuse it to b
MTWBT, if u think of DICWB, could fit into LFL's twilight zone-ish vibes.
Lucky Ones could trail off after Paradise
The Blackest Day's glumness could very well fit into UV,

so on, so forth ~

We've tons of outtakes to glean from, from each era etc. feel free to list em, nd rearrange them to how u see fit. Got a specific tracklist u've input to ur own version of the albums ? What were ur dream album tracklist(s)?

Gods & Monsters could do good on UV

Get Free for AKA (more sonically than lyrically)

Old Money could fit very well on BTD if the production was slightly tweaked

Add some guitars to Million Dollar Man and it could fit very smoothly on UV

I'm gonna go with what I call the «cusp» songs: the songs on the record or released just after it that sonically fit the next project:

- Once Upon a Dream was a good dark preview of UV, Gods and Monsters also;
- on UV, Is This Happiness could be on HM for the production. Fine China and Say Yes to Heaven would have been wonderful on that album as well;
- I Can Fly and Big Eyes preview HM;
- I'm not sure what song previewed LFL: Stargirl Interlude for the «heavier» production? On HM, Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, with its campy and vintage sounds, could fit LFL.

- Change fits NFR. You Must Love Me, with its minimal production, could also.

Heroin and Cherry are the most UV tracks of LFL.
Old Money is the most HM track of UV.
High by the Beach is the most BTD track of HM.

I think DLMBM goes well with LFL but also, it was the perfect transition from Honeymoon to LFL. But still imagine if Honeymoon had ended at Swan Song.

Is This Happiness also goes with Honeymoon, as does 13 Beaches.

Freak could go on Paradise, I know, unpopular opinion.

I also think Live or Die could have been a valuable addition to Born to Die

Was gonna make my own thread for this then found this. In my opinion, the Lana songs that fit the vibes of other records and where I would put them on the tracklist:

- Heroin, after Pretty When You Cry on Ultraviolence

- Oh Say Can You See, after Not All Who Wander Are Lost on Chemtrails Over The Country Club

- Change, after The greatest on Norman Fucking Rockwell!

- 13 Beaches, after The Blackest Day on Honeymoon

- Pawn Shop Blues, after Wild At Heart on Chemtrails…

I can’t see any song being on any album other than the one it belongs to.

The only exceptions you could argue are TNBAR and Yosemite, as they fit the soundscape of the earlier LFL tracks (Heroin, Get Free, 13 Beaches, Love), but even LFL in its final form was a record that evolved into something a bit different than those two tracks. And I guess the songs from TLSP sessions sound perfect for that full record, but we haven’t heard it in full obviously (and the songs that did end up being released sound great on NFR and BB).

Every song contains even the tiniest of idiosyncrasies or the most subtle of stylistic production elements that make it fitting for the record it ended up on and only that record, in my opinion. Lana’s catalog is very specific in that way.
