I really enjoy Doin Time even more now. I’m not sure if it’s because of the video or if it’s because IMO, it fits perfectly I’m with the rest of the album. Also TNBAR is really one of the best songs on the album tbh. And a lot of reviews that I’ve been watching get instantly scalped by it.

After spending a few days listening to the album non stop lol. Here are my ratings so far;

1. Norman ****ing Rockwell 9/10... may become a 10.

2. Mariners Apartment Complex 10/10

3. Venice Bitch 10/10

4. **** it, I Love You 10/10

5. Doin Time 10/10

6. Love Song 9.5/10

7. Cinnamon Girl 10/10

8. How To Disappear 8/10

9. California 10/10

10. The Next Best American Record 10/10

11. The Greatest 10/10

12. Bartender 8/10

13. Happiness is a Butterfly 10/10

14. Hope is A Dangerous Thing For A Woman Like Me To Have - But I Have it 10/10

wow, this album is just amazing. She really did that.

I can’t get over how amazing her vocals sound on the title track... they’re just as good as her vocals on HM. That song has grown to be one of my faves after the official release. During the time I was listening to the HQ leak I considered it one of the weaker songs on the album, but boy was I wrong.

Yes, it truly is something else. Might be my favorite album opener from her. So gorgeous.

I just wanna say that I also love how the lyrics overlap at the end part of HiaB's chorus, I just wanna dance with you- baby, i just waanna dance w you- dance - with you it's like skipping on plush or making body contact in audio form

Omg, I love that too lol. That song is gorgeous in its entirety, but small details like that elevate it for sure.

i haven't had a chance to go out and buy my physical copy. So I’ve been streaming like crazy on Spotify, and I normally am not a big fan of Spotify, but anything for Queen Lana.

Love Song - Cinnamon Girl - How To Disappear is the holy trinity of the album.

Cinnamon Girl-How to Disappear-California outsold :creep:

If by not 'up to par' you mean distilling the worst elements that only kind of work in songs, sure. I could put a dictionary audiobook on shuffle and put it to an instrumental of old money and some of y'all would still be saying it's 50/50 lmfao.

NFR is so Southern California. I really feel like she achieved everything she wanted to pack in about the Californian lifestyle from her point of view into a beautiful showreel of an album.

I’m also incredibly high but wow what a beautiful, lush album. That 50s oriental sound from the Love demo actually finding a place on the album is amazing.

You're scared to win, scared to lose

I've heard the war was over if you really choose

The one in and around you

You hate the heat, you got the blues

Changing like the weather, oh, that's so like you

The Santa Ana moves you

California is far from being a favorite but I think this might be one of my favorite parts in this entire record  :defeated:
