I am starting to really love this album  like, I wasn't much of a fan even in 2013 (I preferred her unreleased stuff + the paradise era) but... it's hitting lately idk 

She really caught lightning in a bottle and changed the world

BTD (both the album and song) will forever be one of my favorites. Words can’t even describe how much I love BTD. The album is such a great bridge from Lizzy to Lana.

Looking into purchasing vinyl records for the first time. Before anything—a proper The Paradise Edition LP never actually existed, right? As in, it was just a variant of the Paradise EP that came bundled with the "limited edition slipcase."

I'm just thinking about the amount of streams it would have now if Lana had acknowledged BTD in its 10 years birthday.

This album arrived at a period of time where I was having a spiritual crisis and coming to terms with the inevitability of death. At first I was intimidated and even scared of Lana, with the evocative title ‘Born To Die’ and her almost looking down at you on the cover (it really freaked out my 11/12 year old self lol). I would think to myself ‘No! We weren’t born to die! We were born to live and experience new things' blah blah blah

 

However I ended up revisiting Lana's discography back in 2015/2016. With that I was able to fully embrace the 'darkness' per se and feel more comfortable and in tune with my own sadness. She is one (and will always be) of my favourite musical artists of all time
