The only thing I can nit-pick me is that some of the poems start with the recitation of the poems title and somes don't, it kind of bothering me lmao

I can't break the DRM protection from iTunes.... which is another roadblock and I have to be up for work early tomorrow please shoot me ughhhhh i can't sleep if this isn't right

 

Ahh gotcha. I haven't used iTunes in forever, but if you really can't find a solution, an annoying but simple method could be to audio record your screen and then break that. Then when you have time later, you can crack the DRM. That's all I can think of right now anyway. I do have the file myself though as one giant mp3 which could be broken down though my own laptop is being a crackhead, in its last days...

Wow. So incredible. I've always loved Lana's speaking voice - I used to leave her interviews on loop while I would do my makeup in the morning before going out for the day, and I still do. But this will be even more lovely to listen to. I actually love the poems where her vocals aren't crystal clear, as if they're filtered. It sort of reminds me of how thoughts sound in their head rather than when they're spoken. & Jack's accompaniment is so beautiful and adds such a wonderful extra element to the poems. Some of these poems I felt were stolen right out of my throat - or my brain rather, since I've never spoken them. Mostly out of fear, so it's incredible to see how fearless she is to share all of these inner thoughts, more raw than when she strings them into lyrics and melodies. It's so deeply personal, it almost feels like I shouldn't be listening. I know it's not until March, but I already can't wait for Behind the Iron Gates (and Chemtrails too, of course.) 

 

I'm going to listen a few more times before I give a more thorough overall response and ranking, but off of first listen, my top 5 favourites are:

These poems are all great with such fitting instrumentals. It's too difficult to pick a favorite. The last few (My Bedroom is a Sacred Place Now - These are the Children at the Foot of My Bed, Paradise is Very Fragile, and Bare Feet on Linoleum) had the most personal impact for me.

This was just so stunning The sonics kinda reminded me of those old outer space 90s (80s?) educational documentaries on VHS tapes they'd show at elementary school and it just felt so nostalgic and warm. The poems were so raw and the storytelling was just so stellar, she was so vulnerable. My favorites were LA Who Am I To Love You, Sportscruiser, Tessa DiPietro, and the last three poems (such an amazing way to wrap up the album) I honestly thought this was gonna be just a cute project that I'd only play it once (some clown shit really ). Like I really didn't expect to be hit in the back of the head with a bat so hard
