I personally think this is a good thing. I've been annoyed for a while with how Facebook has a stronghold in the realms of social media. I'm especially displeased with what they have done to Instagram. I'm very curious to see how things will end up.

i was just looking at their wiki page and their “acquired businesses” list is so long. they buy EVERYTHING mildly successful to curb any potential competitors.

For a few months I deactivated mine and enjoyed it, but ever since I reactivated, I found myself hating it more than I did before.

 

I'm seriously about to switch over to just snapchat or normal email and texting and calling at this point.

That pisses me off too. They promise to factcheck yet they never do anything. They dont take down the misleading shit either. At least twitter fucking flags it for you to let you know that sources say otherwise. Facebook is the reason why fake news exists.

im so glad i deleted fb years ago. unfortunately i still have instagram otherwise i'd have no idea what's going on in my friends' lives. they've ruined that platform too. i think the only platform i dont completely hate these days is twitter.

Absolutely 100%. There is no reason for one company to be absorbing so many smaller tech companies like that. If they don't get broken up, I bet they're gonna snatch that parler app.

I need to get around to deleting facebook as well.  Twitter is probably the best social media platform out there. It's simple, not bogged with so many features, the new stories thing was controversial but I actually do enjoy it.

ugh the stories thing really annoyed me. but i really appreciate the fact-checking feature *cough* cuz trump *cough*, it has its flaws, but it's better than any other social media i can think of. the biggest issue for me is the people who use it, but you cant really do anything abt that.

So I got FaceBook for it's marketplace feature and the ad targeting is literally scary. I think we should shut this whole shit down in 2022. 

 

I have and need to use a VPN through work though on my laptop, and it helped a BIT. But still...very concerning on mobile. Might delete the app. I think everyone should be using a VPN tbh.
