You thought I was rich and I am and it's exactly how you think
I live in one of several homes depending on my mood and what's convenient
when Ben calls I take my phone outside to the picnic table
that I bought from Home Depot
and I listen to all the stuff he wants me to do
and I think about the last time he visited me
the last time I shelved a promised project which was just a few days ago
how the emails from Interscope became more panicked
and it felt like they were kinda mad
and that i was flying because i have a private jet
until i took another selfie
and i got 5 million likes
and they all commented on my hair
and i became a poet
and you buy all my stuff anyway when I eventually release it

People think that i'm rich and i am but exactly how they think
i have a truck with an *ironic* trucker charm on the dash and on the back it says: fresh outta fucks forever
and when i drive
i think about how the kids will react to my feet on the dash this time
how the car horns were so loud that i couldn't hear the fans begging me to slow down
so i became

They write that i'm rich and i am but how they think
i have a safe i call the lying box
and in it every archived insta post,
every music video that didn't get released just to remind me
of all the things i've lied about and will lie about again
pathologically

You joke that i'm rich and i am and it's exactly how you think
I go for dinner at dennys and i could afford to purchase the entire establishment
and employ the service staff in one of my many homes
and when you call i pull out one of my 17 iphones
and put you on speaker
and chat for hours underneath the trees on my vast property
and think about the last time i delayed an album
how the comments from the fans got angrier and angrier
on instagram and twitter
until it was like a river or a stream of notifications
and it felt like i was famous
but it wasn't just a dream
i was just
