Not to bring about another discussion about associating her albums with seasons, but I must say that Lust for Life, Norman and Honeymoon are the perfect summer albums. Just listened to all three back to back and it was an experience.

 

Groupie Love, Summer Bummer, In My Feelings, White Mustang, Cherry, Change, Mariners, Venice, Fuck It I Love You, Doin' Time, Music to Watch Boys to, Terrence, High by the Beach, Freak, Religion

 

Whew, these songs just hit more in the sunshine and blistering heat

Tbh her entire discography reminds me of summer except BTD. I usually fall in love with her songs in summer, Honeymoon being the exception, but the vibe is still summer. It's maybe because she's from LA which is not known for having pronounced seasons, especially winter.

Yeah, a lot of her catalog reminds me of summer as well, but Chemtrails & Blue Banisters hit more when the weather starts cooling down in the fall imo

Ohh yeah, I forgot about post NFR albums lmao. COCC and BB definitely have a fall vibe, but COCC can also pass as spring album. It kinda reminds of the time I traveled a lot by train in early spring and would play COCC while the sun was shining and nature finally becoming green.

COCC and BB aren’t bad - they both just feel very awkward to me. BB especially.

 

COCC has some of her best material in recent years. White Dress (career highlight), COCC, TJF,

WAH, DBJAG, DTWD. The rest unfortunately feels undercooked and secondary. I wish she spent more time fleshing this project out because there was a lot of potential I feel she could have dug deeper into. It’s a solid 7/10 album still with a strong sonic identity. 

 

BB is bizarre. I’m not so sure the sonic palette is really established enough for it to stand it’s ground as an essential Lana album and it has a LOT of very mid songs imo. There is a strong 10 song album in there somewhere but it all feels very transitionary. This one felt more like a 6/10 personally. I don’t find myself going back to songs other than Dealer, WFWF, Text Book, Thunder and BBS.

COTCC is a really beautiful album, and I do feel like it had a clear aesthetic vision(The two budget MVs she put out were great), I could do without the features & the cover is disappointing, but other than that it's great. Chemtrails feels like the most "Lana" record since LFL. I think the QFTC and the rest of Lana's messes made the era a bad one though.

However, BB's tracklist feels incohesive, the songs by themselves are good. However, there isn't much variation or experimentation. It's cute but not amazing, and I'd rank it lower than LFL.
