Random Lana Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Don't know if this is the right place to ask this but…

Is there a list/thread on here for all the official Lana instrumentals that have been leaked? I'm trying to see which instrumentals from her albums are publicly available and which aren't. :crai:

If you were to make a Lana: Greatest Hits or compilation from AKA to Blue Banisters (try and include at least ONE from each album, even if an album isn't your favorite) of 14-20 songs, what would your track list be?

Down On the West Coast: A LDR Collection

1. West Coast

2. Born to Die

3. Kill Kill

4. Ride

5. Off to the Races

6. Arcadia

7. Video Games

8. Shades of Cool

9. Change

10. The Greatest

11. Blue Banisters

12. High by the Beach

13. Love

14. Norman Fucking Rockwell

15. Chemtrails Over the Country Club

16. Pawn Shop Blues

17. Thunder

18. Honeymoon

19. Oh Say Can You See

20. White Dress

I'm surprised that Lana and Grimes haven't made a song together yet. I know their music isn't super similar but they do tend to lean into ethereal voices, so I think it would work.

Aurora would be a better fit imo

grimes tends to be very high pitched like a dying mouse (i do like her music ) i can imagine it being v difficult for lana to fit into a song like that

I'm gonna go in order of album and do about two songs for each:

1. Pawn Shop Blues

2. Yayo (AKA Version)

3. Off to the Races

4. Video Games

5. Ride

6. West Coast

7. Brooklyn Baby

8. Terrance Loves You

9. Honeymoon

10. Love

11. Get Free

12. Mariners Apartment Complex

13. Hope is a Dangerous Thing

14. The Greatest

15. White Dress

16. Chemtrails

17. Wildflower Wildfire

18. Arcadia

I picked three for NFR just because that album was so huge and influential, and this doesn't necessarily reflect my favorites, but rather what I think are Lana's most well known/iconic songs

Randomly remembered a time when I got so high that I got scared, so I made a status about it here and half of you were recommending tips to help come down, while the other half were recommending Lana songs to vibe to instead :sideeye:

I love this fandom 😂

The headlights from passing cars
They illuminate my face, and
Leave me in the dark
The voice of Nirvana says
"Come as you are"
And I will
The night time is almost ours

One of Lana's most haunting and evocative lyrics. :true:

Oh Say Can You See is a masterpiece, and I can see it being placed on Blue Banisters, right between Nectar of the Gods and Living Legend.

as well as...

"the sway of the hips & arms

will cradle you from afar

they swing 'till you're tired

and send you to mars

nighttime is almost ours"

i completely cherish this work of art... <3

Imagine one of these extended versions being the official one and the actual version being a radio edit? It would've been perfect! Imagine listening the BTD vinyl with the monolog and the instrumental part. It would've been unreal. :godlaugh:

The road is long, we carry on

Gimme them gold coins, gimme them coins

But you fit me better than my favorite sweater and I know

They say that the world was built for two

Can we hit it now low down and gritty?

Blurrin' the lines between real and the fake

There's no release, I feel you in my dreams

Like a fucking dream I'm living in

It's alarming, truly, how disarming you can be

How did you get that way? I don't know

Cruisin' down the coast, goin' about 99

We were skippin' school and drinkin' on the job

Gold and silver-lined my heart

I know what the boys want, I'm not gonna play

You're a careless con and you're a crazy liar

I'm tired of driving 'till I see stars in my eyes

Your skin so golden brown

We can escape to the great sunshine

Opulence is the end

Warmer than May, her tender sighs

In the land of Gods and Monsters

I wear your sparkle

Don't be afraid of me

Everybody knows that I'm a mess

We could go back to Woodstock

I can't break through your world

I've got feathers in my hair

You push it hard, I pull away, I'm feeling hotter than fire

Might not appeal to fools like you

I'm stronger than all my men

My life, it comprises of losses and wins and fails and falls

This is my show

Sunsets, small town, I'm out of time

It's such a change from old routine

Life is beautiful, but you don't have a clue

He loved guns and roses, he loved guns

People never die in Miami, that's what they all say

Little bullet car if we choose

It's all a game to me anyway

When I hear your tunes
It's so crazy I could drink it like tequila sunrise
The truth is I never bought into your bullshit
Screw your anonymity
A little party never hurt no one
Remaining a perpetual possibility
The storms come, in the eye we'll stay

I was so wrong not to tell, I'm in regine, tangerine dreams
Carry me home, don't wanna talk about the things to come
If you lie down with dogs, then you'll get fleas
You won't work another day
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

It don't matter because it's enough
There's no more night, blue skies forever
Across the county line
My cherries and wine, rosemary and thyme
Slippin' on my dress in soft filters
High tops in the summer
Time after time, writing my lines

Talk that talk, well now they all know your name
Critics can be so mean sometimes
You let me in, don't leave me out, or leave me dry
Cut a rug, lean into the fucking youth
But warm is the body of the girl from the land he loves

You said you'd meet me out there tomorrow
Something 'bout this sun has made these kids get scary
Who am I to sympathize when no one gave a damn?
Their arches are illusions, solid at first glance

You act like a kid even though you stand six foot two
I'm your man
You're beautiful and I'm insane
And if I wasn't so fucked up, I think I'd fuck you all the time
All the people in the dance will agree

You know that I'd just die to make you proud
But if you hold me without hurting me
I'm always going to be right here
You're brighter than the brightest stars

Topanga's hot tonight
Those nights were on fire
I bought me a truck in the middle of the night
I'll pick you up if you're in town on the corner
Don't ask if I'm happy, you know that I'm not

Look how I do this, look how I got this
I'm not bored or unhappy, I'm still so strange and wild
Keep that bottle at your hand, my man
Don't make me be bittersweet
Time after time, I think about leaving
So play it like a symphony
I think you know the same things that I do

Honey, you make me feel I'm invincible
I don't wanna end up like Tammy Wynette
And life doesn't always work out like we planned
They knew he had never been on their TV

But maybe, finally, that'll make it right in the end
Summer comes, winter goes
All roads that lead to you as integral to me as arteries
'Cause no one does it better
Without trial like a stowaway
Let's keep it simple, babe

Ever since I fell out of love with you, I fell back in love with the streets
I check it, I wreck it, I turn it around
But you're not satisfied at the rainbow's end
It's strange, but it's true, darling

I get wild and fucking crazy like you never knew
But you never cared about my name
Swing it high like Jesus, wild and free
If you're stressed out, just know you can dance to your song

It's the middle of the night and I'm wondering about how tall Lana is? I always thought 5'6 but maybe she's 5'5 or even 5'8 or? Does anyone know? :oprah2:

♪ "I'm leavin' them as I was, five foot eight" :oprah2: ???¿¿¿

I'm 5'6.5 and thought she was around that too?? I always felt self conscious about being "too tall" as a womaaaan (relative to where I live anyway) and she actually helped me feel more confident etc. cause she looked pretty tall in performances and still so so cute :ohno:
