Its been almost two weeks since the album leaked and here tthere are some notes after properly digesting it:

-Truly a beautiful project. Her most cohesive yet alongside Honeymoon. Only flaw for me is it's length, should have had one more song to totally come to shape.

-The sound is very elegant and mature, absolutely depurated. Production is on point and there's no fillers (Im not the biggest fan of TJF, but anyway, it has it spot within the album).

-The album somehow -and I needed many listens to notice it- puts me on a very weird mindset, not exactly a joyful one. Listening to it is a very reflective, calm experience, and a bit of a painful one too. Both the lyrics and the music are definetly coming from a very deep, kinda dark place most of the time. The last three songs are literally a dream as the closing to the album, are painfully beautiful and sound like the ultimate goodbye from Lana. And that's part of what makes the album experience troubling for me. Not that she hasnt given that message before (almost all of her albums sound as they could've been her last, farewell one) or that she hasnt already announced her next project, but the feeling of distance in this specific one is definetly alarming. The ruminations, the distant approach to reality, the calm and the pain of it all make the album sound as a goodbye letter for me. We know that she will be here for long, but anyway, those are the feelings.

Hope all of you who listened to it after the official release enjoyed it!

When NFR came out I thought that I became a delusional stan and I'll like anything from her at this point. But this album actually showed me why I like NFR so much, why I think it doesn't have a filler track and why it's my fave album of all times. COCC for me is just cute next to gorgeous. I understand that not every song should be made to be a standout but the fact is that every NFR track had something unique to it.  Songs on COCC are still pretty but ngl, forgettable. Like would Lana's discography lose something if she didn't have Wanderlust or Let Me Love You?
This post probably looks like a drag but I actually like this album. I think it's a cute 75 or maybe 80, but to me it's always about standout tracks om the album and I just didn't find any in the 2nd half. I understand why a lot of fans like Yosemite, I tried, but it never clicked.

So my ranking would be:
1. Chemtrails
2. Tulsa Jesus Freak

3. White Dress

4. Wild At Heart

5. Dark But Just A Game

6. Let Me Love You

7. Wanderlust

8. Dance Till We Die

9. Yosemite

10. Breaking Up Slowly

11. For Free

I love top 4 a lot, I like 5-8. 9 to 11 - not feeling them but there's nothing really bad like God Bless America or In My Feelings. That's why this album is above LFL.

I find remarkable that she could pull off so many songs about her being artist, about stardom and fame, while making them accessible and relatable to the GP- fans (White Dress, Dark But Just a Game, Dance Till We Die, For Free and even some parts of Yosemite).

I'm trying to go to shoplanadelrey.com and it redirects to ldrvillage.com and wants me to sign it.

I really want the cassette, but why is it $15 on the Universal Music website and $23 on Lana's site for the same exact thing? What's the difference between the two sites if y'all know?

because vinyl & cassettes seem to be overpriced in the US generally, theres no other reason. might also have to do w/ all her pressings being manufactured in the EU atm, so shipping + taxes + custom fees add up to the OG price

i agree that it's a really reflective listen, though i dont find it to be a sad or painful listening experience (will of course depend on people's life experiences/current events). i get more contemplative when i listen, really makes me think a lot about my own life when i listen, which is interesting because a lot of it is so specific to lana's life– though this is a true of a lot of her work, and part of the reason i appreciate her artistry so much.

I will never understand why some Lana fans try to cancel me when they tell me that Chemtrails is not as good as Norman and they complain that I say that Chemtrails deserves an 80/81 em metacritic.
I like the album but it didn't move me as much as Norman.

Chemtrails to NFR is like what Paradise to Born to Die is. Do you agree with that?

I've been wearing the same damn clothes
For three damn days
Lincoln, Nebraska's got me in a haze
The thing about men like you
Is you got a lot to say
But will you stay?

You say you got my name on your tattoo
Opening up doors, pulling out chairs, look at you
You talk to God like I do
I think you know the same secrets that I do
I'm talking bout

Obsessed with this song. My new "Bartender" :bebe:

...It's just wanderlust. :trisha:

I asked Asmodeus (the demon of lust) to make Miley Cyrus suffer. I am not happy with these new developments. After Miley rips off Lana's aesthetic, she bullies Lana into changing her release date. It is infuriating.

LFL, NFR and Paradise are not cohesive. Literally the opposite of cohesive, beloved :eartha:
