And I wouldn’t want that lol

Lana has always been on the sensual side rather than sex. Anyways, just sex for an album can be tiring (looking at you, Ariana).

Erotica is not just a sex album, it's a sexy album with sensual (porn) aesthetics that deals with dark and intimate themes like BDSM, sexual atraction, homosexuality, breakups, depression, alcohol, social equality, life, death, AIDS, mourning, social issues, love, blowjobs and many other things. Kinda like Honeymoon (Gone Wild Edition).

I absolutely love the three singles we got, but I do hope that rest of the album doesn't take such a loose, freeform approach when it comes to melodies - in some parts of the singles it feels almost like Lana is lagging behind or jumping ahead in the lyrics, the vocal melodies aren't so tight, it reminds me in parts of when Lana falls behind in the Lust For Life Demo and she has to kinda 'catch up' with the instrumental lmao. (idk if that makes sense bc i am high on opiates right now but hopefully it does!)

idk, the lack of vocal melodic structure is nice sometimes - real poetic songwriter vibes - but i do hope its not gone for good!! sometimes it just comes across sloppy

While I’m a partial to Lana’s early, cinematic soundscape, the triple single release really demonstrated how effective sparingly-used instrumentation can be when highlighting certain lyrics or vocal stylings.

In WW, the synths that come in when she sings, “I’ve been running on star-drop IVs,” give me chills every single time. The same goes for Text Book when “Ol’ Man River keeps rolling,” ushers in the almost choir-like vocals and ambient noise.

I think I (and others, probably) have been so accustomed to a grandiose styling from Lana that her more stripped tracks feel “underproduced” when that’s often not the case. Again, that doesn’t necessarily apply to all of her stripped tracks, but I could see it associated with quite a few. Just a random thought & appreciation post for her more recent works ig lol

I had this thought as well! Wildflower Wildfire is hands-down one of my favorite tracks she’s written, but there were times I had a difficult time fully appreciating it because the verses, pre-choruses, etc. almost felt hard to distinguish between?

That’s probably just my subjective experience with the song, and those sentiments have largely changed for me after listening multiple times, but yeah! I totally get where you’re coming from! It definitely has that stream-of-consciousness vibe both lyrically and melodically

I once made a brave status here that said "if you loved Million Dollar Man but hate 24 - that means you never loved Million Dollar Man in the first place"

And I feel like the same thing goes for the universal Hope praise but mixed enthusiasm for these 3 singles. Give these songs a chance to change you

So well-said, as always! I also love how her breathy backing vocals are added only on "IVs" - it's truly magical. :legend:

I want a video for WFWF that is overall quite simple but in very clear quality that explodes in the end (similar to how the song does). Like her in a sunny field that has many flowers and just looking gorgeous. Then in the second verse she starts being able to create fire with her hands. Then in the final chorus she’s *accidentally* setting the whole field and flowers on fire and there are a lot of effects on the video as she does this. Almost similar to SoC video but instead of in blue and purple hues in orangish and yellow hues. Then in the final seconds the effects go away and it’s just her in clear quality in a burned out field… watching what she’s done… everything is burned and she caused it.. almost the opposite of her goal in the song.

anyways…

I asked Asmodeus (the demon of lust) to make Miley Cyrus suffer. I am not happy with these new developments. After Miley rips off Lana's aesthetic, she bullies Lana into changing her release date. It is infuriating.
