It’s a confessional song but it’s too dark for an album that glimmers on redemption and hope. It’s still a sad and gloomy album, but the message on BPBP doesn’t fit on an album where most of the songs are expressing feelings of regret, neutrality and salvation.

I think bc it’s biting commentary on how the media and public in general responded to her depression, in my mind it works 💔 it is so bleak, but I feel like there are enough moments of levity on the album to allow for this hypothetical arrangement lol

I agree, I think NotG does exactly this cause that song is completely depressing. If NotG, a sad ass song, can be on the album then might as well throw in another one

I do, I think the albums are very similar as in tracks flow well with each other, at least in my head

I just realized the idea of being "at home where you belong" when listening to Blue Banisters also portrays through the way Lana puts Nectar of the Gods, Cherry Blossom, Living Legend into the official album tracklist  - Which are songs we always deemed that they had not found a "home" for them to belong to yet, all these years.

By including them in Blue Banisters, Lana now found a home for these three & thats why it was such a wholesome moment for us.

Yall did Text Book so wrong. Easily one of the few good songs on there.

I don’t hate Living Legend, Nectar of the Gods & Cherry Blossom tbh. I was just never particularly crazy about them.Seeing them as part of this album though…they just come off as total fillers and it shows why they never made it onto an album before. They needed to be reworked.

The leaked songs not being reworked was the biggest disappointment for me, and after all this time I'm still not over it. Even if the songs didn't leak and they were new, they still wouldn't have fit and I'd have the same complaints. They added the jazzy outro to IYLDWM and redid Thunder, so I don't understand why those three were left completely as is. Nectar of the Gods is one of my all time favorite Lana songs, but it's at the bottom of my BB list as an album track. I also don't think it's super deep that she chose those songs since we know she originally had other leaked songs and I Can Fly on the tracklist, and only made the change after giving Barrie permission to use their song on his album
