I saw the news on Instagram and went straight in and pre ordered the deluxe version because he’s also doing something with Jack Cruz and I love David Lynch!! My bank account hates me now but I can’t hold myself back when like three of my faves collab ❤️ I adore Father John Misty and can’t wait for this drop. I have fond memories of the one that dropped in 2018 and of course I Love You, Honeybear is a masterpiece…

Interesting fact: FJM got a Grammy (!) for his last deluxe edition (Pure Comedy). So if you buy the set, you may have invested in another Grammy winner.

This was so confusing to me for no reason. I thought that he wrote the song then gave it to her to sing as a cover but then put it on his album as her cover without releasing his version

I don’t know if this has yet been discussed, but apparently there exists a composition by Greg Abate Quartet called ‘Buddy’s Rendezvous’

 

I wonder if there are credits for the song available yet to see if it’s an adaptation of his composition. And it’s even more confusing cause it could make Lana’s version a cover of an adaptation of an original song that has yet to be released ?

Ok, just coming back to admit that I'm a liar. I purchased a copy 😏 Even though the 7" will never have its own catalog number and never be considered an official LDR release; after Lana posting about it, I decided to add the FJM box set to my collection. If the deluxe box set had a limited quantity, it would def make the 7" more valuable. Still tho, I couldn't take a chance of passing on something that might be worth owning as a collective item in the future. Only time will tell if it's worth it 🤷🏼‍♂️ I never thought the LFL heart shaped vinyl would be worth much and that was one of the worst mistakes I've made from a collector's standpoint.

I love Father John Misty’s sensibility and sound so I know I’ll love the record, but regardless, Lana’s covers have always sounded like originals — she knows which songs to cover, and knows how to interpret them as her own, so I know we’re in for something good!

Oh wow I actually really enjoyed funny girl. The acoustic bass, that sexy ass trumpet, the pizzicato strings, and the organ at the end (which I was convinced was background singers at first?!). Overall a really nice song that makes me even more hype for Lana’s cover
