Lana's Album Titles In Your Native Language

Recommended Posts

So I thought it would be interesting to see what the titles of Lana's albums look like in your native languages! Here they are in Polish:

Urodzeni by umrzeć (Born To Die) - this directly translates to 'We Are/Were Born To Die' and if it were meant from a woman's perspective it would be 'Urodzona by umrzeć'

Raj (Paradise) - I really like this word. The 'j' is pronounced the same way as 'y' in 'yes'.
Ultraprzemoc (Ultraviolence) - not sure if this word exists in Polish but the word 'violence' translates to 'przemoc' so...

Miesiąc miodowy (Honeymoon) - this literally means 'honey month'
Żądza życia (Lust For Life) - pretty good direct translation here. Another word for 'lust' would be 'pragnienie'.

Norman Kurwa Rockwell! (NFR) - so... this is probably very wrong but 'kurwa' is the equivalent of 'fuck' :flop:

Smugi chemiczne nad ośrodkiem wypoczynkowym (COCC) - I couldn't find an equivalent of a 'country club' but I believe it's more or less a 'recreation centre'? I might be wrong lol

Niebieskie poręcze (Blue Banisters) - again, a nice direct translation here

My native language is English so can't really comment on this but it would be so cool for someone (:mj:) to make new covers with the different languages

I would re-make them in Polish but drawing a flower in Paint is as far as I can go...

They're almost exactly what I imagined they would be in German (I speak a little bit of it) but what is FLITTERWOCHEN? Something to do with weeks, right? Also... to me a honeymoon indicates only one night but based on the Polish and German translations we seem to have more fun with it just saying :eek3:

Honeymoon actually means the first month after marriage, so there's a connection to the Wochen/weeks. But "Honigmond" or "Honigmonat" is also a more unusual synonym in German.

Ahah penso siano un po’ sinonimi? Si potrebbe anche tradurre con Balaustre Blu, che fa un po’ ridere ma suona più simile all’originale!

According to google, honeymoon originally meant that affection would wane like the moon after a marriage which is much more lana tbh. The polish just seems like a literal translation because a moon is just an old fashioned way of saying a month
