true!! I think a lot of people assumed since she was covering the magazine new music was like super super close and I remained on the mindset that it is still a good bit away. When Ben posted the magazine article he said "new music in the works" I took that as nothing was finished yet

I tell myself that we just got two albums and two new non-album songs as well. And the music industry is having a hard time keeping up a schedule, with the damn vinyl delays. I prefer radio silence that leads to an organized pre-release, on the span of Max 5 months, instead of teasing, radio silence, a lead, nothing and an album 8 months after because they couldn’t get a proper planning of the rollout. And this far, this era is nice, with its almost nothing News (can’t believe I’m saying this)

I absolutely agree! It is super refreshing that the first time we're hearing about new music it isn't accompanied with a random album name (White Hot Forever) or fake date (June 1st/July 4th). I know a lot of people want new music right away but I'm more than happy to wait for her to have an album she absolutely loves. She was unsure about COCC during her Interview magazine interview in August, and nothing changed before it's release in March, and she called Blue Banisters a collection of songs, so if she takes her time and release an album she absolutely loves, I'm happy waiting!

NFR, COCC and BB eras did it for me  The only news I’m craving are from insiders and not from her  I know, it’s bad, but teasing that leads to nothing has run its course, same with selfie cover art with false release dates. Magazine covers, at least, offer us great pictures

I don't mind waiting a couple of months while she finishes the album, gets a rollout plan and all that but what annoys me is that we'll have to wait like 3-4 months after it's done just because of the stupid billboard rules 

I guess she'll use the waiting time to start writing the next record or to hopefully start the current era properly. If she spaces things well a 4 month rollout could be nice. She could release the lead single just as she sends the record to the vinyl plants and then use the remaining time to release the MV and a couple of singles 

I just don't want random singles with no follow-up for months

We have no idea where she is the process of this album, it’s still unclear when it will be released but… her Spotify numbers have been really higher for the last couple of weeks. If the trend continues, releasing a song or even perhaps a whole album digitally first (so we can have it earlier ) could do better than her past releases, if the song is interesting (mid-tempo summer jam, anyone?)

I was thinking about this, but when she usually starts teasing an album she releases magazine covers and they perfectly capture the vibe of the album…

 

like ultra with the shoot with the suede jacket PERFECT 

 

BTS with the classic glamour mags

 

LFL with the Lana for Paris match

 

 and with the W magazine we got that stunning spread with her glamour channeling Marilyn Malibu beach ‘62

and the lyrics she teased and the way she carrying herself and how she’s angry
