LDR9 - Pre-Pre-Release Thread

if we get another bb-type album, i don’t think i’ll be listening to it. i never even listen to bb.

Same, sadly. I probably listened to BB in full about three times after the release. And no, it's not because I can't twerk to it...

If the next album sounds like this, it's gonna be the first one I won't purchase. I also already know, for the first time since UV, I won't pre-order. It actually really bothers me that I can't enjoy her latest albums that much.

She is so good at any genre she explores. I hope she's getting creative with LDR9 again, no collabs and only new songs. :flutter:

This is obviously based on very limited info, but here’s the vibe I’m getting:

Lyricism: Wildflower Wildfire & Text book

Vocals: Dark But Just A Game & HIADT…BIHI

Production: Arcadia & Old Money

i honestly hope this album is nothing like blue banisters, that album is messy, & i’m not saying that because i “don’t get it” or because i just want club music that i can shake my ass to (which is like, the last thing i want from lana) i’m 100% here for something emotionally deep & complex, but only if she does it right & serves quality, blue banisters wasn’t that at all, 3 of the tracks are youtube rips of 2013 demos, & tracks like beautiful, violets for roses, & arcadia are really boring, lana is totally capable of making great music in this style, for example, wildflower wildfire & text book, i want lana to put in the effort & make the best album she can make, also, she needs to start working with rick nowels again

I'll do some predictions cause there's nothing to talk about:

- 10-12 tracks

- Drew as the main producer

- A Rick track (probably an unheard outtake)

- Only a couple Jack tracks (some 2019 outtake and the April piano song)

- Sonically in between HM and BB (same singer songwriter vibes but with more lush orchestral production)

- Neil photoshoot

- 2 part album trailer. One by Rich Lee with some kind of storyline (similar to the LFL one or that Interview Mag video) and another using some random footage filmed by herself and Chuck with some snippets.

- 3 MV: Two high-medium budget ones with Rich and a more lowkey one filmed by Chuck or just arranged by herself

- Song titles: I have no idea but I'm sure some of the captions from the HM posts have some clues (whether it's lyrics or titles)

- Release date: Definitely something in the summer (at least 1 single). I can see the album coming in September or October

This is not necessarily entirely what I want but what I expect from the little we know about the album and my overanalyzing of her Instagram posts :hide:

Yeah, I also think that BB would have made a great poetry book, but it's just not a great album

my personal wish would be some vocals like dealer, california, heroin, dtwd bridge, ww – emotional, powerful, and strong, with a great range literally and of volume and expression

and if i’m REALLY reaching for something that is possibly unattainable, a touch of her live versions of heart-shaped box and roadhouse blues even though that was like 9 years ago .. but she had it a bit in dealer and other songs so i KNOW she can do it at least as of 2017 so bring it back lana just a little bit

I've spent the last few days in Scotland and I've heard Lana's songs in at least three places. So her next album will clearly include more lyrics about whiskey, as well as kilts, bagpipes, Gaelic wisdom and a dislike of England.

Nuair a choimheadas mi air ais, a’ lorg lorgan-meòir thairis air pocannan plastaig, tha mi a’ smaoineachadh gum b’ urrainn dhomh rùn beag a chuir a-mach no is dòcha d’ aire fhaighinn airson mionaid no dhà

Disclaimer: the next post will be based solely on an « old » tweet from Honeymouns, who said that there were three outtakes from Norman that made it to COCC (DBJAG, NATWWAL and WAH). And I know that he has lots of unreleased but is not necessarily the best source for info.

I wonder how many « bombastic » tracks were left off Norman. Based on the fact that COCC got three softer outtakes from Norman, I don’t think there are more than a few bombastic songs (two? Three?). True, she writes and records a lot of songs, but Norman had 10 songs made with Jack, and she did say that she liked to hang with him, talk and if it lead up to a song, fine, but it wasn’t always the case. So, maybe she could include the best of those tracks on the new album to switch things up a bit?

I personally don't think those "bombastic" songs will make the record. Colourless, wordy, conversational are all descriptions that I feel completely contradict that notion. I don't think it's going to be as downtempo as Blue Banisters, but I also don't think that it will be some huge jump or departure in terms of sound. Predicting more of a Honeymoon type of album, which makes sense to me since she also mentioned that record in the interview

I asked Asmodeus (the demon of lust) to make Miley Cyrus suffer. I am not happy with these new developments. After Miley rips off Lana's aesthetic, she bullies Lana into changing her release date. It is infuriating.

You could be completely right (we really have no clue so far how those songs will sound). I guess I’m mostly wondering if those bombastic songs are any good :judgingu3:

I hope we get them as well! I also have a feeling we might get a song that is longer than Venice Bitch on this record. Had that feeling once I saw the icy photoshoot :nails:

The 2018-2019 timeline is so confusing cause they said they basically made 2 albums at the same time (cause they had 2 distinct sounds) but Jack also said there were some "bombastic" songs that didn't fit either of those. Maybe CG and FIILY came from that third section of songs cause they are as upbeat as Lana gets lately :um2:

They already had the "Chemtrails songs" picked and they probably didn't make sense on BB so I think there's a possibility we're getting some of those tracks on LDR9 :true: Unless they don't fit this album either and we're getting them on LDR14 :hide:

I wonder what happened to the "60's girl group / Shangri-la" record. Or is it just tlsp songs? 🤔
