Like, I am not here for it. And it’s her new thing. It’s just an irk, it’s like that light, airy, higher register….  it’s kinda ruining some of her recent songs for me

Her monotone singing will forever own my heart. I was happy to hear a glimpse of it in Riverside, NOTG, Thunder & Living Legend. The fact that all of them are older than 5 years worries me.

WCE got the “worse” version as the official one (the official version reminds me of Mariah’s One Sweet Day and Creep at the end). The one in the credits is better :

Same! It had/continues to have great replay value to me so I’m not bothered lol! 
 

Also it is not like EVERY song on the album will sound like that even if the record is in the same vein. I personally think people are being a little over dramatic about it.

I just want to listen to the new album for the first time  and it's going to be a long waitI'm so sad about the book situation... That poem she wrote for Behind the Iron Gates it's my favorite by her, and if I think about the quality and beauty of the other poems from that book, which will never be read, I feel like . What a fucking mess :'(

Same to both, just want the album and also the book. The book is really saddening to me for her and for us too. I was really anticipating that one. I think it was a different level than Violet. I was and am continue to be super intrigued.
 

I’m really hoping she has physical copies of the poems either hand/type written and she just has to re-edit/format/put the book together. That said it’s still not like it would come out the exact same. Fuck the people who stole her shit.

i think WCE is like lucky ones, music to watch boys too and cherry blossom, cute songs but not the best Lana has to offer

 

i would be fine with a piano ballad album but something fun to break it up like doin time and tnbar on nfr

Some of that deeper register came through on Black Bathing Suit and she sang that way for Buddy’s Rendezvous. There is hope.

I have mixed feelings about Watercolor Eyes and I really don’t know why. Her voice sounds nice, the alternate mix is much better than the released version, and the lyrics aren’t horrible. I guess it still feels a little unfinished and could be a bit more fleshed out? Like I said, not sure exactly what it is. I do find that the alternate mix fits decently between Thunder and Wildflower Wildfire on BB though, if you want to remove the 2013 songs but still have a song to fill the gap left
