The NFR snippet era was...something, but I found it more exciting than insider info tbh  If we're gonna get any hints about the album, I want it from the source herself. And usually, that doesn't spoil too much, so I'm actually excited when things happen. It sucked that we didn't get the three singles as the surprise drop they were supposed to be, so I'm hoping this era is quieter on the insider front

Idk, I found it much more enticing when she would tell us about the album and we got no snippets besides an album trailer. It made listening to Ultraviolence and Honeymoon for the first time all the more surprising and wonderfully confusing. 

Maybe it's also because those albums didn't leak so early.

Something I love about NFR that I hope to see in LDR9 is that—despite it being more stripped back—it contained really unique and easily identifiable production elements that really made you feel like you were escaping into NFR’s little bubble. 
 

For example, the varying electronic elements stitched into songs like FIILY, Venice Bitch, Cinnamon Girl, etc. really made the record feel cohesive without the tracks feeling indistinguishable. Not only that, but I feel that it elevated NFR from being a typical pop-folk record and almost placed the record into a genre of its own. 
 

Even if LDR9 ends up having my least favorite genre influences, I hope the production choices feel very intentional and that the songs won’t suffer from sameness. Hopefully that makes sense lol

As long as she paces the snippets close to release, I am fine with them. Imagine if she released one per day until the album was out  Just a 30-second snippet with the title (it would be even better if she didn’t reveal the tracklist before that).

If this album really is conversational and wordy, I’d love a track like this, but I know it’s certainly not everyone’s taste. 

 

If you take the time to let this track simmer, the seemingly nonsensical lyrics construct this really simple but profound message. 
 

Especially after hearing Lana’s performance on Violet, I think Lana could do something similar in a really poetic way on LDR9.

if we get snippets (which i'm not opposed to as long as they're not long) can she pls refrain from 1. showing off snippets of incomplete songs and 2. singing overtop of the snippet being played

 

reason being i end up overplaying the snippet and then when the final product sounds different it messes with me

If I had to describe what I think this album is going to be using previously-released material, I’d say:

 

1. Arcadia’s orchestral arrangements

meshed with 

2. LA Who Am I to Love You’s dissonance and lyricism 

meets

3. Honeymoon’s mood as a record (contemplative but glamorous)

Ugh I would love an album similar to her poetry, hopefully we get that second poetry book soon.
