Agree 💯! I really like the two “reflective” last albums, but even though physical sales were great, it’s the steaming numbers that also matter. COCC and BB will hit the magical 1 Billion stream mark on Spotify in a long long time… another milestone is a song hitting 100M streams… and the only one, out of these two albums that did was COCC title track… and I don’t think another one is nowhere near achieving this

A new single could be a good idea if it’s a mid-tempo boppish one, at the moment: BTD, UV and Norman have hit new records in the last weeks (BTD had its highest numbers since 2012, Same for UV and its 2014 numbers)… Summertime Sadness had its biggest streams for a day this week or last week, BTD will soon hit 4B streams… Lana is on fire 🔥 A new single could be a very good strategy at the moment.

If the album was finished late May we could have a mid September release that mirrors HM (a couple of songs out in the summer and another single with the album release in September) but I don't think the album is done and if she's already releasing stuff I think we'll have a long pre release 

Maybe it's not even the proper lead single and she's just releasing a random song she loves from the album to give us a taste like she usually does

Wait... I didn't even think about that possibility and I hate it 

At the same time that would be better than having nothing while waiting for the album but I got too excited about LDR9 and that's all I want right now

this is also very very likely. she's said she wants to do it this way instead next time and there are absolutely no copies or Blue Banisters at Targets near me. they'll have maybe 1-2 copies of cocc but it's almost like they're not restocking for a reason. Target always has Lana, so that's why i mention it now because it's interesting. i only saw 1 run of physicals at Target and that's it, they've not restocked. and how she's seen other artists digitally drop albums and then do physicals, i think it makes a lot more sense to do it, especially because it keeps the secrecy of the album intact until she wants us to hear it. remember tape girl? and the last 2-3 eras we've gotten album leaks before the album was out because people got their hands on it early. 

 

also summer starts this month, she sleeps in spring so she's staying quiet right now for a reason

Hmm I wouldn't mind a single in July ( single announcement this month ), maybe another Interview in August, then another single in September & then pre order & an album Trailer in October. The album being out in November with a third single dropping before the album comes out. I want a summer album though but it means we either have to get it this Summer ( but idk how realistic that would be ) or Summer 2023 but I think that's too far away ( and I'm too impatient for that), so releasing the most summery / boppish song from the album this Summer would be nice if there even is one lol

Idk I also want her to take her time to make good music videos for at least three songs this time & some album Trailer again. Another album trailer alà LFL would be a dream come true

Or like some of you said she is dropping it digitally this time & we can get it this Summer/ early fall

 

Edit: Nvmd November seems so far away but I lowkey tried to stay a bit realistic

The Arcadia video in combination with the 🚀 give me the idea of an "another world" concept. Imagine Lana singing on another planet far far away or maybe in a fantasy world, the ideal setting matching her new ethereal music or dream pop in general. In Arcadia she said she's leaving and we don't know if only L.A., America or the whole planet. But anyway I think it could be a key song and somehow the connection to the next album.
