I had this idea for Salvatore ("dying by the man of a foreign man // Salvatore can wait, now it's time to eat soft ice cream") but now that I've sketched it, I don't know if it's something I want to continue with or not, haha. Might also go against the rule of inappropriate motifs since there's a skull more visible than my UV illustration?

as an artist n designer i have thoughts on this. i really don't think it's exploitative because they're being really open about the process.

you have a potential $250 for the winner and you know you're giving your copyright to LDR's team. if you're chosen, you get to have your work featured on an official lana del rey merch line, which i think is pretty cool. plus, they make nice portfolio pieces.

 

at that point it's up to the artist to decide whether or not they want to partake. 

yes, i submitted a piece! i just think it's a great opportunity for fans. i personally am really excited

Well, winners will recieve $250 x2 so I guess it's not totally for free. But considering how fast they will earn that sum from selling merch, I agree.

Honestly I think it should be more like $2500 because sis (and the village people) can totally afford

We have people here who spend that much on one order without batting an eye
